17014 case and bracelet for sure. Im not a fan of the buckley dial but slap a black or blue dial in there and I would sport it everyday and twice on Sunday.

I like them both, so I bought both of them. Why choose when you can have both.

I have the same watches as you the Ref. 17000 and Ref. 17014 even down to the dial. However, I've been thinking to switch the buckley dial to 17000 case and roman dial to 17014 case. Just for an experiment since I am planning to fix the tritium on the Buckley dial anyways. I'll post once I have them back from the watchmaker.

Here are my both watches that I purchased this month (July 2017).

Ref. 17014 - 1981 (or 2?)

Ref. 17000 - 2000

Sam,
You must be my spiritual twin!!! What is the probabilities of two people buying the exact same watches in the same month (technically I got my 17000 last month). Your thinking is same as mine, why not have both? Currently I have two issues with my 17014, I prefer the white roman dial with silver markers (same as my 17000), but I think it's nice that's it a bit different than it as well. Also, I have one missing link on the 17013 which makes the watch snug to my wrist (once I had the clear back case cover I don't think its going to fit).

Nice I'm also thinking about doing the display caseback. However, I haven't yet decided whether I would want it or not. Let me know how you feel after you have a few months of wrist time with it.

Ive had it for a month on my 17000, I think its excellent other than it changes proportions of how the watch sits. It sticks out 1-2mm on top part. I like it on the 17000 but to a watch lover may be blasphemous to be so bling blingy.

I believe you can set your clasp longer to shorter. So, is yours set to the longest possible in order to give you more room?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don't care. They are my watches and I do what I like with them. It is like the same way I do to my cars. LOL

I think its set to longest currently. I will check at watch service place when I take my sapphire crystal back to them. It fits fine and doesn't bother my wrist but the clasp opened up once so far today when I was moving my wrist to pick up something. I like that it doesn't move as my 17000 moves constantly on my wrist.

So it took me a few days to decide but I think the 17014 is prettier but the 17000 more iconic.

I have a 19019 and a 17014

LOVE THEM BOTH!

I find the 17014 easier and more comfortable to wear, the WG is definitely heavier and the clasp catches on women's dresses quite a bit, which depending on where in life you are, is a good/bad thing!

btw, my 17014 has the same dial and hands as your 17000, and IMHO the best combination for OQs

kc

I fully agree.... although the black buckley dial did grow on me. But the silver markers are really pretty. Post some pics of your 17014! If I ever find one like it under $3000 I may buy it.

I have both a 19019 WG D-D, original silver dial and a 17014 WG / SS with original black dial. I wear the 19019 a lot but, have begun to wear my 1630 14 k YG and SS oyster perpetual date just again. When I had the 17014 battery replaced the rolex watch maker in the rolex boutique in Wynn's Las Vegas said the seals are gone, don't wear it in any moisture! I don't.

I think I am changing my opinion that the 17014 is the prettier of the two even though the 17000 is more iconic.

I own two 17000s -- one is mint, three-line dial, in the safe, one is in the daily wear rotation, five line dial. If I could only have one, I would go 17014 but not the Buckley dial.

If I had more funds, I would go straight to 19019.

17014 is such a beautiful watch, and tough... believe me, I have the scars to prove it!

19019 is heavy, and I'm still trying to adjust to the weight of it. The warmness of the White Gold, and the horizontal brushed finish of the case... my oh my!

V10K, I'll attempt to post pics soon, too lazy to figure it out so far.

I love the heft of the OQ alot. Soo much so that my cartier tank solo XL is about to be put up for sale for collecting too much dust and to make room for more Oysters.

I haven't acquired the taste for the 19019 yet but I am a devout OQ lover for now-I have seen soo many people outgrow their OQ but to me its the ultimate Rolex. I would like to believe I will keep both of mine the rest of my life and then some (pass it on). I prefer my OQ in non stick dials. The stick dials make it feel old and vintage. The Roman dials make it feel modern to me (even the black buckley which is growing on me as opposed to the white roman with silver markers).

What I really don't understand is why everyone else isn't absolutely crazy for OQ? They have the best and most comfortable bands of any watch. They have Rolex craftsmanship written all over it not to mention accuracy, no hassle, no maintenance, and ruggedness. At first I thought I wanted to be one of the crowd and snub the quartz thing in favor of the automatic but after owning a JLC reverso squadra auto, I love my OQ to death.

If you like heft, and think the OQ has good heft, then the OQDD has even more of that...

I'm not sure if the OQ is the "ultimate" Rolex, I think people will debate that till the cows come home.

When the OQ was launched, it was selling at double the price of a Submariner, I was told. Having said that, I have no idea if that's true or not, and don't care. Though if you look at the case finishing, especially the side, where it is rounded, with chamfers on the top sides, and the sharp corners surrounding it. It is sublime!

Combining a brand new "hybrid" quartz movement, integrated bracelet that's built like a tank, and you see why they had to sell it at that price... and could be why not too many people wanted to pay for it.

It is definitely the red headed stepchild of Rolex, but it's also my favourite

Hi my twin,

I finally got my watches back from the watchmaker after I decided to switch the dial/movement together for easiness. So here are the pictures for your eyes.

Hi flyduc, did your watchmaker maintenance on your quartz watches? Or has he only changed the dials.

Hi robbrum,

he only changed the dials for me, but I'm not sure if he can service it. I can check for you if you like me to find out. Let me know.

Reason why I'm asking is that my watchmaker said to me that he cannot service my 19018 because of the elektronic module.

So he recommended me to go the a RSC.
