RSC swaps Daytona dials

Is it true that RSC will sell you a white or black dial for your SS Daytona if you ever decide you want a dial swap?

Will they sell you another dial or would you have to pay and return the other dial?

My understanding is you do a dial change and they keep the dial that's been changed out.

I do not like how Rolex dictates what you can and cannot do with your property. With that said, I'm still a Rolex addict. Hahahhhahaha!!

They will sell you a dial only if it was originally available for your reference and they will keep the other dial. Never done it myself but this is my understanding.

Chris is right. I have spoke to Toronto RSC and they will be happy to change the dial for $510 but will keep the original dial.

So say I have a black SS Daytona and want a white dial. Does that mean I purchase the white one from them and they'll do the swap and in turn keep my original black one?

Thanks guys for the answer. Feeling a bit ripped off having that thought although I understand why they don't want to have spare parts floating around

This is interesting, I have a 116520 with a white dial. Was this reference ever offered with the Arabic panda (white with black subdials)??
I would love to swap for a panda dial.

When I bought a new clasp for my SS Daytona for £700 Rolex UK was kind enough to keep the old one for themselves....I made Goldsmiths pay for that error!

When you service your car do you ask for old parts back? When you re heal your shoes ? When you alter clothing ? When you service your computer etc etc You could ask for them back in ALL these cases and many more analogies but Rolex seems to think what you paid for still belongs to them !!

In California and perhaps other states it is the law that the auto shop offer your parts back. In some cases they have residual value, like an alternator. If the parts have value then their needs to be an agreement as to what becomes of them. Sounds like Rolex policy is that they only swap parts. Those are their terms.

Because a lot of those genuine parts can go inside replica watches, they don't want that. No need to worry about replica cars or computers.

That is the case with one exception. If there is a compelling reason to change as in a visibility issue with gold hands being hard to see on a champagne dial, they will swap it for one that is easier to see. They swapped my champagne dial for a white one on my tt zenith and yes they kept the old dial.

Buy a junk/damaged dial, swap it out before sending it off to RSC?

I just called RSC in dallas yesterday morning regarding a ss Daytona dial swap and she said I could NOT change it to black bc mind came with white. I even explained that the watch was only 4 months old. Oh well? I ended up buying a panda dial instead.. 😊
