Need help with vintage Daytona

Any ideas about this reference? I’m new to the world of vintage Daytona. I think it’s 1967 release. 1.5m serial number. What’s this worth?

Pretty sure it's a 6239.

Yeah. That I’m pretty sure about. I think the combo of that silver dial and red font is pretty rare but correct me if I’m wrong. Please advise

It looks like an early 6239, with early bezel ('units per hour' at 1 o'clock) and early hands (thinner longer minute and hour hands, thinner and squared running seconds).

As far as I know early 6239 sometimes came with 6238 casebacks. But I have no idea if a big red dial is original or if there are any others details to watch out for. You need to be well advised.

Good luck!

The cherry dials are quite rare. Looks nice and correct. Would love to see the dial underneath the scratched crystal.

Value is hard to say in todays market as prices for Daytonas are all over the board. What are they asking? If they don’t know how rare this dial is it may be a good deal.

He doesn’t know how rare. I just hope he decides to sell. He’s researching now so I’m sure he’ll realize he’s sitting on a gem
