Wedding Watch Gift tradition?
Was curious to know if a "wedding watch gift" from the bride to her husband was ever / is still considered a tradition these days?
If yes, any recommendations/experiences/stories that you'd like to share? |

Not sure about a tradition, but I got an Omega Seamaster to wear as an “engagement ring” in 2002, then a Rolex Explorer on my wedding day in 2004.
Still wear both regularly, and the Explorer hasn’t been serviced yet. |

I did buy one as a wedding gift but it was the other way around, from me to my wife.
If you’re going to do it all I would say is buy something you know your other half loves and has hopefully tried on in the past. The one I bought was the 26mm Rolex Datejust my wife loved it and wore it for years but now wears a much bigger watch. The wedding present lives in a drawer and for sentimental reasons she won’t part with it. Good luck if you go ahead with it because it’s a fantastic gesture from you. |
