Icon19 My 5513 Mk1 Maxi dial

I got this watch about a month and a half ago and still quite pleased with it. It is my second vintage Rolex and the best condition I’ve had. The price was a steal so I was amazed the dealer made it work.

I’ve done some homework and it looks correct. It is a 5 mil serial. I had the timing regulated by my watchmaker and it’s pretty spot on accurate. Anyway here are some pictures.

Looks like a mighty fine example based on a quick, cursory look.

Enjoy the 5513 for many years to come and welcome to the vintage side of TRF.

Actually the guy I got it from is not even a watch dealer just has a small jewelry shop and sometimes gets decent watches from his clients. In this case he also had a really nice red Submariner Mk 5 I believe, and a pretty nice gilt GMT 1675. Both very nice and the guy he was selling it for was apparently really desperate to get rid of them. Some elderly gentleman from what he tells me.

If interested I can PM his contact if he still has them.

Nice piece. Keep an eye on the 1,7,6 and 9 hr marker plot dial rot on edge of markers - unless it's just photos 1 and 4 as not showing on the middle two photos !
I say that as I had a 74 DRSD same early stages of dark shadows, prior owner had kept in his orangerie (fancy greenhouse), of all places.
Keep it dry warm areas and away from wet humid storage and it probably won't deteriorate.

Interesting to know, it is only most apparent on the 7'o clock marker around the edge. I do live in a pretty dry climate, so I hope it will keep for many years as the watch is so great to wear.
