Dallas GTG (Watch Crawl) Update!

> 1:00 start at a casual Addison Mexican restaurant (right off the Dallas Tollway) - food, early cocktails and a Bob Ridley show and tell
> approx 3:30 we visit an AD to be confirmed
> after the AD - dinner for those who are game at a local dinner spot

I will only give locations and directions via PM or email (security reasons)

I need to know who is definetly in and who is a maybe (head count is important for the restaurant and AD)

RSVP via email lratlove@tx.rr.com or via PM
A lot of excitement - we are over due!!!

I'm actually not too thrilled to meet Bob... I sent him an email almost 2 weeks ago, asking about service for a non-Rolex watch, and he never responded. I'll still be there though!

IT Expert Needed!!!

As stated, Bob Ridley is attending and doing a brief "Show and Tell" at out initial restaurant location.
Bob will be sharing a few pictures with us and my plan is to connect a lap top to a flat screen TV at the restaurant - to display Bob's pictures. I am struggling with what kind of cable is needed to connect a Dell PC to a flat screen TV with a VGA or HDMI inpput.

Any IT experts out there? Help!!!

Please consider me as confirmed. Any recommendations on hotel with a nice day spa. Wife wants to do something non Rolex related while we are there if you can believe that!

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help the event.

Don't know for sure. My guess is the newer the TV the more likely it is to have both HDMI and VGA connections. Please don't consider me an expert. Others probably know for sure what will work.

Depends on the TV model and laptop. The newer TVs will have VGA and HDMI. It also depends on what your laptop has for output. If it only has VGA, then just bring the VGA cable and hope the TV does too. If your laptop is newer and has an HDMI output, then the HDMI cable will suffice as long as the tv is not an old CRT or projection TV. All LCDs have at least one HDMI port. Older TVs will have VGA port instead of HDMI.

If you can, just bring both the VGA cable and HDMI cable if your laptop has both. The TV will have one or the other for sure.

I am.

I would recommend calling the restaurant and asking for the brand and model of the TV. If they can't go over and look, I recommend visiting the restaurant yourself and finding out. Then search for the specs to see what kind of connections it has and see if it matches what you have.

Any standards for dress code? I normally dress business casual on most days. I certainly do not want to overdress.

I guess that would depend on where we go for dinner. Shorts and a t-shirt may not cut it for Pappa's Steakhouse.

only required dress code is to wear the watch (or watches that you love!!!)
casual and comfortable (anything goes from jeans to khaki to dress slacks)

You should come down Lisa. It would be great to see you and your family again. I'll even get my wife to come along so you can see that black MOP again.

As of a few minutes ago, Vu, we're officially IN - at least for the lunch. We're looking at hotels this evening. And I'd love to meet your wife and see that DJ!

Do you still have your YM?

I am sure that my wife would love to meet you as well. You should stay at the Great Wolff Lodge, your kids would love it. If you need help with the Dallas area, let me know. I can point you to the Whole Foods. :)

Yes, I still have the YM.

They would love it, Vu. However, by now most of the rooms are booked and what's left is terribly expensive.

That's a fun place for a day or two, but I wish there was more to do nearby.

I am pretty sure it is an obligation of the event organizer to buy all attendees a new Rolex.
