Fitting a Crystal Glass into a 1967 Gold Date Just 29mm.

I have a 18ct Rolex which I purchased in 67 and I'm thinking of having a 29mm Crystal Glass fitted, can anyone help...The watch has been returned many times over the years to Rolex in Bexley Kent UK for service etc. and I was once told it could not be done.
The Model is 1511/8 and the Mitre 18ct Strap was replaced with a Concealed President.
Many thanks for any help you can give me.

Stan Thompson.
