Old and basic. I'm not a fan of blue and green.

My favorite of my 3 subs is the old 1993 black sub. It wears the best and most comfortable for daily use. Next is my yellow gold which looks incredible and has total presence on the wrist. I like the new mk2 LV also (my newest) but not sure how much it will get worn with all my other watches.

It is. I owned it twice. But the watch was just too uncomfortable whenever I wore it. A pity though, no doubt I’d buy it again if it had the submariner case.

All of them!
But I’m obsessed with the yellow gold blue dial. Then the 126619lb. Then the LV, followed by a no date with NATO strap.

No offence to anyone.

I like the 5 digit references but these ones loose points on the bracelet. The jump in overall bracelet quality from the 5 to 6 digit ref is huge.
Case proportion wise, I really like the 5 digit ref though.

From the modern Subs, I prefer the new 41mm Sub as I think it's got better proportions compared to the previous supercase 40mm aka "beefy lugs".
Having said that, the clasp on the previous 6 digit ref was smaller and that is something I liked.

To summarise.....there is no such thing as best Sub.
I currently have the latest ref, Starbucks Mk2, and I'd be happy to add a last production years 5 digit reference.

Problem is nobody would buy a submariner if this happens.

Agree with Alphadweller the best Sub is the super Sub the great SD43. Plus the Hulk in my opinion.

Exact same experience for me as well. It’s a pity, because it’s such a beautiful watch.

Have to argue one point! Gold is actually the better material for a dive watch. Unlike steel, it won’t really corrode.

For me, the best sub ever is the one you purchased at a great price, then wore it regularly for at least 20 years!

If you STILL own it, that counts as a bonus!!

Any of the 126 models. The thinner lugs with the wider bracelet tops all others for me with exception of my 1680 sub. It is the most special due to being my first Rolex and because I payed for myself at age 15. 1080 dollars for it. It went everywhere with me and was/is tough as nails.
