Teasing aside, when comparing my date-just to my sea-dweller, my date just feels more secure and solid on my wrist. And we all know how well the sea-dweller stands the test of time and having such a rep of being a rugged in almost all wearing condition.

I owned a DJ with the newer style jubilee bracelet and found it to be far more comfortable on the wrist than the older one, primarily because of the clasp area. Also, the hidden clasp just looks so much better, IMO.

Pretty sure the GMT IIc has 20mm lugs. The new DD and DSSD are 21mm.

the newer ones are definitely better. my dad has had rolex for about 20 years and you can definitely see the stretch in the band. how the new ones will look in 20 years is still anybody's guess, but i'd like to think it wouldn't be as bad

Neither the new bracelet nor the old bracelet actually "stretches." All of the elongation is due to wear, mostly erosion of the pins and holes.

The same thing happens with drive chains, like the chain on a bicycle. They appear to "stretch," but it's actually just erosion of the rollers - not elongation of the links.

Agree that the new Jubilee bracelet is more solid, and probably looks better with the hidden clasp. But in the case of my P series Datejust, I think the watch itself looks better with it's brushed tapered lugs than the new Datejust with the wider mirror lugs. And that older style Datejust has the older hollow Jubilee links with the older clasp. But I'd still take mine over the current model.

Great bracelet I have one, the only problems I have had is the bracelet can not be micro adjusted to get a perfect fit and sometimes the bracelet has a tendency to unclip itself so I tend to wear my DJ less. Before you all jump in I live within a few minutes walk of St James Square which is the UK service centre and they have informed me that both problems exist in the bracelet.

Would like to have this sorted out, as one day I´m gonna have a Super Jubilée!

I've traveled and worn my super jubilee extensively and have never had a problem with the clasp opening by itself.

Due to the nature of my work I wear my watch pretty tight to my wrist with little slack but enough to place your little between gap. sometime when I snap my wrist the bracelet flips open! Don't get me wrong the watch is not tight on my wrist. I prefer the oyster bracelet with the lock in all fairness but prefer the look of the jubilee. I have taken the watch back on several occasions to no avail.

That would bother me too.

But I wear mine on the snug side and I'm always amazed how secure the "click" is. The last thing you want is for the bracelet to open on it's own.

I could see this happening if the adjustment on the bracelet makes the rolex crown lock shifts more to one side and is not as center on the wrist. Centering this might be difficult just b/c of the way the bracelet is designed but not impossible.

The other day saw a person wanting to add some links to a Jubilee Bracelet with hollow links... since the new ones are solid, can this be done? Won't it unbalance the bracelet?
