5168G vs 5172G or 5147G

Hi Guys

I would love to get some thoughts about this:

I got recently the green 5168G from my AD but Im not happy at all. Somehow the watch gives me not really Patek vibes and Im disappointed.

I want to move towards something more classy.

What is your guys opinion on the 5172G on a guy in 30ties?

Is the exchange (obviously with some cash out) worth it? I assume with the 5172G you really get the Patek experience?

Why is the 5147G not holding any value? Im a bit afraid, that the diamonds will be too tacky.

Would love some thoughts from you guys.

Have a great weekend everyone

You really have to love the flat green look or it just doesn't land.

A few that are more Patek in the way you may want, but are still a bit younger and more casual may be.. 5326g, 532g, 5524g, 5935a. I feel like all of these can go anywhere and do anything.

The 5147g is quite different than the others, being a 30mm and diamonds.

Did you ask for the green one from the AD or just take it when offered.

I find that the flat green dial has a very different look that you either love or hate. And it might be influenced by how many pieces or Pateks you end up owning. I got the blue dial version and love it. But I specifically requested it or the 5167R.

I do like the 5172G a lot and the nice thing if you traded is that you would be getting a watch close to double the cost of the aquanaut.

5168G vs 5172G or 5147G

Have you ever been happy?
Jk
5172 is great and totally fine at your age, I’m 34 and would be very comfortable in that. I’d rather have the hand grenade but that chrono is just as cool.
5147 is not an attractive watch to me.

I'd go for the 5172G blue dial. The classic PP style plus the chrono should give a great PP experience and it's modern enough for someone in his 30s.

Hahaah good point..I think its always the same with new watches. As soon you own it, its not super interesting anymore I guess I have to try the 5172 on..But your have also a fair point about the grenade, its a cool watch. Just think the price is nuts for what you get.

I forgot actually that they put me on the list back then when I bought a 5726..I went to AD to fix my wifes watch and he told me: Suprise suprise. Thats how I ended up with it Anyways - as mentioned in previous post I have to try the 5172 on..What ive seen it looks like such an amazing piece of art

I’d probably wear either 5726 more than the 5168G. Particularly if you have the 5726/1a. Seems like a 5172 would be a good match to the 5726.

I would agree, this watch does absolutely nothing for me. But green is not my color and even more so on watches. I wonder if the current trend of colorful watches is a fad and will pass. To me a colorful watch is whimsical and not serious. Okay once in a while but not everyday.

Great watch, what about the other 2?
Different dial options.

Too difficult for me to choose between blue or green dial in 5168g, I like them both yet they’re so different

100% it will pass. Only thing I can imagine, they will skyrocket once they discontinue them. But I doubt they plan it anytime soon as they released the chrono in this „amazing“ color
