Flat 4 16610 LV under a loupe

There's been a lot of talk about the 16610lv recently, particularly the first y/f series with flat 4 bezel. Here are a couple of pictures under a cheap loupe.

Great close up pictures & lovely detail. Just took some close up pictures ( well the best I can do in work with my phone ), of my V serial for comparison . You can clearly see the difference in the O in Rolex & obvious bezel insert differences

Learning question:

What is specific about the designation of "flat 4"?

That oval shaped O is definitely a unique dial variation.

About $5k!!!!
Seriously, it was only the first year or 2 of the Submariner anniversary model, in effect the real 50 years rather than the later models which ran for approximately 7 years in total.

Great photos! I don't have a flat 4, but love the oval O on mine.
