New to me 16610LV Mark I Flat 4

I have always been a fan of the ceramic Subs, and the Sub-C was my first ever Rolex, but I had always loved the 16610 LV Kermit. I also had the SD ceramic and that is the best modern Rolex IMO in terms of size, form (with the thinner lugs), and practicality (with the ceramic bezel + glidelock).

I recently encountered a 16610LV with the Mark I dial Flat 4 bezel and couldn't resist but to pick it up, as out of all the variations of the LV the Mark I with Flat 4 bezel is by far my favorite. Overall I am really excited with the watch. First time owning a non-ceramic Sub and I must say I now understand why there are so many people loving the non-ceramic case with the thinner lugs.

The maxi-dial with non-ceramic case is perfect, but I must say the solid center links and glidelock on the new subs are a step above the older bracelets. However, just something about the 16610LV that evokes more emotion for me.

Just wanted to share a few pics

Congrats, it's a beauty. I think you will find that the 5 digit subs will disappear on the wrist.

Very nice

Being a lover of the Sub, and after having my first in 1971, I wanted BADLY the 50 th anniversary watch.

I had collected the money and targeted a new one, but family needs absorbed the funds in other scopes. Family is always a priority

I always wanted one, I still want one as does my younger son ( 16 ) and may be one day......

Nice, that's a piece I've been wanting to get. I had a 16610 but have always prefered the larger lume plots on the LV.

Thanks! Since I came from ceramic Subs with SCL and glidelock bracelet, the 16610 bracelet does take a bit of adjusting to, but other than that I wouldn't change anything on the watch.

I'm sure you'll end up adding it to your collection down the road. It's a journey after all and like you say, family is always the priority.

Yes, one of the reasons I ended up picking it up when I saw it as it does appear prices have been rising quite a bit lately. Not sure if it's just a bubble but didn't want to wait to find out, and I really wanted the Mark I dial :) Hope you get yours soon!!

Excellent. Awesome choice. Was window shoppping yesterday at two greys here. They had a total of 4 LVs between the two of them. The were selling (including one Z NIB) and a few flat 4s for $8,500 to almost $10,000. In Japan.

Wow, the prices of these LVs are definitely going quite crazy lately! Surprised even the Zs are going up so much. From what I have seen the Flat 4s, then Vs, and then Ms have been increasing the quickest over the past while.

Thanks! Yes, I love the lighter lime-colored bezel and one of the things that really drew me to the flat 4.
