ROO 25 Anniversary RG Tourbillon

SIHH for me SIHH was as I predicted disappointing. The only watch I'd love to get is the ROO 25th anniversary Tourbillon in rose gold, which sadly is considerably beyond what I’d be comfortable to spend on a watch, at this time at least. I did ask how much it was but have forgotten. A pity, as I think it’s one of the most beautiful designs I’ve ever seen -I think the case design and pusher design is awesome.

I asked if this case style might be adopted for other less rarefied 44s in the future, but it seems, sadly, the answer is no.

What I haven't put over in these pics is the depth of the piece, it is so utterly 3D. Beautiful!

Hi Chris, it does look awesome in your photos, APs renderings clearly need improving.

great pics. Actually some of the best ive seen since all we see are standard wrist shots and promo pics.

I do like the watch a lot. For RM money though, I would buy a RM instead. Still a nice watch and i was not a fan initially.

The pushers and case do look cool, but the rest is not for me.

Thanks re the pics, They aren't great but in this case the colouring is representative. I get where you're coming from, Tyler, but I'd have this over an RM any day. Just my opinion, of course. In truth I'm tempted, as it is an awesome piece, but I'd be terrified to wear it, and there's no point in owning one if I won't use it.

I might be wrong but I can see it becoming an iconic AP piece.

with your collection you could consolidate a bit and pull it off without too much pain. You have a lot of PM already

If its a one off case design, i think its going to be in demand for a long time to come. And might actually go up in value which doesnt normally happen on a lot of the super high end pieces.

Great pics Chris

Price wise isn’t it somewhere between £275-300k? Well that’s the price I had in mind from somewhere! And the SS is £50-60k cheaper.

I cant recall. I asked D but it was so much I just got depressed and put it out of my mind. Its the only thing I wanted too (need an icon of a child throwing its toys out of cradle here!).

i would have guessed that price, but in USD. in GBP that seems high, especially compared to the RO tourbillions which are around 260k USD or £185k

I have no idea what the price is though.

Isn’t the Ti ROO tourb £240k

I’ve just found an article putting the prices in swiss francs to around
RG chf 325,000
SS chf 285,000

i dont know the only comp i have for sure is this....https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/au...raph-squelette so im assuming the new RO Tourbillions (which are the best AP'sof SIHH probably) are about the same

Thats quite the premium for the ROO if its priced that high.

Chris
Going over your pics again, the pushers are cool, I’d only previously noticed the shape and not the RG insert part.

Yes OUCH!

I do think AP are missing a trick with the lack of ROO models between the standard chrono in various materials jumping then to the Tourbs.

I’d love an openwork or a dual time (maybe not the best but lost for other options) guess you know what I mean! Something around the 50-100k region rather then this massive jump, well like the schumi just something a little more different and unique.

thats one thing Patek gets really right.... 5711, 5712, 5726, 5980, 5990. Lots of variety and complications in the same line.

AP ROO its chrono then tourbillon

Is that including VAT though? For the RG 325,000 Swiss is about £245k. Add VAT and its nearly £300k. Either way, and whether one has that in the bank or not, that's a lot for a watch...

I absolutely agree. For instance I love the design of the Tourb. Now if they were to produce a similar 'standard' chrono dialed version in RG limited to 500 pieces at say £45k to £50k, its likely they'd have got my 'intent to purchase' yesterday.

Yes the ROO Ti £245k at VAT inclusive

And agree that’s serious watch money and as nice as it is it’s not 6x your SE

I have to say your pictures have changed my opinion of this watch. It looks great compared to the AP renderings and promotional pictures.

Thanks for sharing these awesome pictures!! Definitely my favorite piece amongst all the new SIHH '18 pieces. Hope I can get my hands on one, might have to settle for the SS version tho
