Vintage Rules, more character, more history, just as accurate and more durable.

I love the newer GMT's because of the ceramic bezel (love the look and feel), updated clasp and I really like the polished center links. I had a Coke 16170T and really enjoyed, but prefer the modern GMT's.

I have to agree with you,Steve!

Since, Dalton worked on my 1675, it was not working when he got it, it loses about a second a day on my wrist. I do not see how a new watch would be any better.

I also really like the matte dial.

The pain is the 48 hour reserve and setting the date. So, I bought a Wolf Winder.

Every time, I plan on switching out watches, I take one look at it and put it back on.

PS I also don't think 99% of people who buy watches buy them for their intended purpose. Most Sub and SD owners aren't divers. Most GMT owners aren't pilots. Most Daytona owners aren't race car drivers. Most Milgauss owners aren't scientists. Most YM owners aren't boaters. Most Exp owners aren't explorers. Etc. Etc.
Hi Ken,

I have a 16710 and a 116713 but the ceramic model doesn't do exactly the same job.
It doesn't give me the half hour increment time zone I need for South Australia.

Could be the old models do a better job and pilots are not the only ones who use the GMT function.

I voted for the modern interpretation on this one.
I just think they are so similar looking that all of the modern developments, particularly with the bracelet are too good to pass up.

I won't be able to form a opinion, 'till I've held one, (new Pepsi) which doesn't seem likely to be any time soon.

Still longing for a 'correctly coloured' ceramic Coke. That might sway my view.
I expect they'd be as hard to obtain as the current job, probably, even more so.

More durable? Are you referring to the 'vulnerability' of the ceramic bezel?
My thoughts too.
A replacement bezel is HOW MUCH!

If you are a 1-watch guy, then I would definitely say the 126710 as you can always wear it and never be worried that you will damage it.

If you have a collection with other watches you can bang around a little, I would probably go for the 1675.

But pretty much an impossible choice, and will also come down the condition of the 1675. At a similar price (roughly 10k) I would probably go for the 126710 as better examples of the 1675 are a bit more

Which is which?

Is the 125710 the “actual tool” because one can wear it 24/7 without giving it a second thought, and the 1675 is “essentially jewelry” because of the care needed to wear and protect vintage watches?

;-)

My vote is modern, though I dig em all!

But, you don't have to decide and are keeping both, right?

I voted modern a while back but can't see letting that 1675 go. You're lucky to have both.

New PEPSI for me. I like bigger size and ceramic bezel. Old model is for collection IMO.

Great looking watch Sir!
The radial dial 1675 is pure vintage class
And its clear to see most sensible folks agree the vintage 1675 does reign supreme

If it was a Giveaway prize, I prefer the modern Pepsi. If I was buying for my own collection, I’d lean towards the 1675.

Weighing my chance of winning a Giveaway, I’d buy the 1675 all day long.

Can’t vote on the poll via TapaTalk - don’t know why they don’t support polls...
