Get a 16610LV or 16520 black dial

Hello fellow watch nerds,

One year ago I sold my 16520 white dial because I wanted a black dial... What a bad timing. Today I am still looking and unfortunately the prices did not help me...

Today I have been offered at 16520, Invested 6, black dial 1992. It is the exact watch I want from a respectful watchdealer I know. However, it comes at a preemium... 28.000 USD.

I would have to trade in one of my watches. My unpolished, fullset 16610LV, year 2007 all original. I rarely use the watch as I prefer my 5513. He is offering 12.200 USD for my 16610LV

What do you guys think I should do? I love the Daytona and I really like the older models without polished centre links. However, I can't seem to justify the price of 28.000 USD. Will I be too afraid to wear it? Should I instead get myself a 116520 (That watch just screams used car dealer)? Will prices on a 16520 ever go down? #Financialcrisis2019

Looking forward to hear your inputs. I have attached a beautiful picture of the Daytona and my 16610LV.

28k with papers is not really a deal...it’s already beat up so why would you be afraid to wear it??? It’s not mint or NOS

You probably know the answer to this, but since you are asking opinions....that is ridiculous. That watch is plentiful, and the only thing that all of a sudden has made it valuable is the perfect storm of strong economy and shortage of new Daytona. Be patient and wait for a market correction.
I like that model, but no way worth that kind of money in my opinion

16520's were not valuable before 2016.......?

Keep waiting for 'market correction'

Yea if anything should correct it should be 4 digit Daytona’s with a manual valjoux movement.....16520 are 40mm and should weather the storm better if there ever is a correction

Its almost impossible to time markets. What you can control is making a deal you are comfortable with.

I think you're right to look for an inverted 6 as it will fetch even more of a premium going forward but the price on this one is almost the price of an 16528 (which is truly used car dealer/drug lord).

Correct. I bought one in 2015 for $9,000. And there have already been corrections in the market in the past. You must be new...welcome!

Forgive my ignorance. Why is the 16528 considered drug lord/car dealer?

I consider any two tone Daytona to be that.

Why don’t u try to sell the watch on ur own? You’ll probably get more than what he offers.

I blame it on autoconnect.
