Not sure how they might build a bi-color ceramic bezel. That may be the controlling factor.

I don't think it's going to happen, not only for technical reasons, but also because I just don't see the style being as popular with "normal people" as it once was.

That being said, a GMTII-C pepsi with brushed centre links and red 24hr-hand/GMT MASTER-text would be close to the perfect watch for me.

I agree with your post.

It would be hard for me to not buy a ceramic pepsi if it were to ever come out... or even just the current all black bezel with red 24hr hand/GMT MASTER-text. I really wish they made that switch back to red.

Cannot see the point of the ceramic inserts myself no matter the colour, now if Rolex could get the price and easy to change if needed the same as the aluminium insert, then perhaps then they could prove to be a slight advantage.

Rolex has a patent for a blue- red ceramic bezel. I downloaded it on my phone. It is a long document with lots of technical information..
What I understand from reading through it, is that they have been having trouble since the outset with the red color..the red that they have been able to achieve has a muddy quality..

It would definatly be cool if they did decide to release a ceramic Pepsi, but if not, at least there are still many classic 1675s around.

Agreed. When they come out with a ceramic GMT coke, tell them to ask for Mr. Blue. (me holding my breath)

Not going to happening. And if it does, I doubt it will look good. I so wish Rolex offered a matte ceramic bezel instead of the bling.

If and only IF they dare take the path of Tudor introducing the Black Bay then would say maybe.

Red color have been the issue initially, but a patent (that you can read here) demonstrate that Rolex solved this issue some years ago.

Patent US 2008/0026207 abstract :

Now we can imagine the problem is more a marketing issue. Is it appropriate to do a pepsi GMT-C or not ...

Great research! very interesting Folks do this a lot re: Apple patents.

So.....my money is still on the fact the bifurcated bezel is out of fashion.

Why do you think it would sell like crazy?

How many of the old version do you see in the wild? now ask the same question about a DJ or a Sub.

The Pepsi is a WIS thing.

I agree with Bill. I don't think it'd sell as well as the black bezel. It's the watch enthusiasts that will love it and they don't make up a large percentage of the Rolex market.

For sure. Given the choice between making a watch larger/shinier, or making a blue/red bezel, I simply can't see Rolex spending effort on the Pepsi.
