Is it possible to rebuild a case/lugs

do we have the technology to rebuild a case....there are some lovely dials out there in horrendous, "guy learned what not to do on the polishing wheel while polishing your watch," cases. Can lugs be rebuilt? Can a case be taken back to NOS?

With all the hassles and if one just intends to wear in good health, why not just buy one with a service case. Assuming price reflects it. I personally have no problem wearing a good nice vintage with service case. Nice strong body with thick even lugs. Of course, the price should reflect that it is a service case. It is just me.

It can, but ABC WatchWerks declines any request to do so on over polished lugs....

Yes, it can be done with TIG and Laser Welding. We do it all the time.

even if rebuilt to the most exacting standards...how could they be considered NOS?

I think he meant "as it came from the factory".
