Unpolished 16750 lug length
Does anyone have an unpolished 16750 (matte dial) that they could measure the lug length, tip to tip, with a pair of calipers on? I think it’s between 47.5 and 48mm but it would be nice to have an exact measurement...

I know that cases of the 1675 and 16750 are different in height, the 16750 is slightly thicker. The 16750 is on top in this photo.
So the cases are definitely not the same. Does anyone know if the length of the lugs are different too? |

Cases were finished off by hand in the past. Using measurements is not a way to see if a case is untouched. Much easier to just look at the shape, finish etc.

Yes but I’d expect the lug length to be very similar between different examples. If anyone cares to measure their 16750 and post the measurements here it would be much appreciated.

Just curious ... why is the lug length relevant?

I think if you polish the top of the lugs then they would get shorter. I saw one in a shop window with really thin short lugs.
I’d like to find out what the original specifications were. If a few of us measure the lug length then we will have a good idea. |

I have a 16710 that was unpolished when I bought it. I had a very light polish done because I like my watch looking good. Anyway exactly 47.5mm on my almost never touched 16710.

Just heard back from bobs watches, their unpolished 16750 measures 47.5mm on both sides.

Used and abused well worn but unpolished 16750 from 1979 at 46.80mm. I have two 1675's unpolished and they are around the same, one from 1970 and one from 1977. Hope this helps??

The 1983 GMT 16750 that I have owned the longest and wear most often have lugs that measure 47.5mm tip-to-tip. With that said, I seriously doubt that all 16750 lugs measure the same length.

I know OP is asking about 16750 but as a data point, my 1978 1675 (worn case visually but still holds factory bevels and shape) is about 47.5mm lug tip to lug tip.

Measured my 16750, with a ruler and its 48 mm (on both sides) - a bit crude, and yes, i do need to by a set of calipers someday!

Forgot to add 8.58 spider gloss dial, no date version, no polishing at all afasik, bought from original owner who only wore it for about 5 years and the put it away. Full set - everything (dates on cert and papers) matches within a range of may 84 (bracelet manufacture date) to aug 85 (when the watch was sent to the dealer - red code on cert back)

47.65mm on my 1983 16750 that I just bought. It is a used watch and I have no clue where it has been but the lugs are nice to me.
