SOTC, First 12 Months

Wanted to share my modest collection after starting to collect watches 12 months ago.
I am really pleased with the current state and thinking ahead to what to add this year.

Would love to add SS GMT on Jubilee if possible at retail. All watches apart from Studio Underd0g are from the same AD, so I think a GMT request is realistic?

Any advice on what else I should consider? Even in other brands not just Rolex or Tudor. My budget is not huge so sub £10k is what I am looking for.
The DJ and OP are 36mm as that size suits me most. Biggest I can push is Sub/GMT in the Rolex line so around 40/41mm in general.

Ideas and advice welcome.

Nice collection! Thanks for sharing.

I feel you like you need something on a silicone/rubber strap. Something a little funky as your current collection is very proper.

I'm on the same boat as you but I'm keeping it simple and getting my first Doxa.

I really like you’re collection, congratulations.

A GMT would definitely be a nice add if you can swing it. Nothing wrong with asking

+1

The modern GMT or a 16710. Either would add some color. Tudor, Breitling and Omega are other brands to consider.

Great pieces! And I’d agree you should definitely be able to ask for a GMT at this point. BLRO might be tough but one of the others should be possible; which one are you leaning toward?

Thanks.
First choice like a lot would be BLRO on jubilee, but it seems unlikely.
Would be more than happy with a “Batgirl”. For me jubilee is key as I am not a huge fan of polished centre links.
Maybe later in the year a new model will be released that’s takes my fancy.

Maybe a 3861 Speedmaster if you like them? Or just enjoy the watches you have for a while. After my first year collecting I only had a Seiko 5 and a casio so you're well ahead of where I was!

Fantastic collection and congrats on a very productive first 12 months! Feels like a GMT (BLNR) or Chrono (Speedy, IWC, etc.) is a natural next step.

Speedy is tempting especially on the new bracelet. But maybe it’s worth to wait and see the rumoured white dial, see if that would suit (and if it’s possible to get from AD)

I feel a white dial would be nice to add to the collection at some point.

Nice idea but I think Explorer II too large for me.
How does it wear vs new Sub and GMT? Any photos or thoughts.

Well the OP had a Pelagos 39, which does comes with the rubber strap. Doxa would definitely be fun. Perhaps the coloured carbon ones.

Nice collection, I like the different dial colours. Always important to have variety min dials.

There are some nice cartiers I would consider, IWC, paneri watches also. I find size varies on the watch for me personally.

Great collection! How do you like the Studio Underdog & do you wear it as often as your Rolex and Tudor? Love the Wimbledon dial, which I know not all do - I'm hoping for a Wimbledon in two-tone (rose) jubilee and fluted.

Studio Underdog is great fun. The layer/shadow effect on the dial is very cool. The colour is actually subtle so it’s very wearable. The strap is great quality and for me that makes a big difference. Very happy for the money.

It’s new I have only had it a few weeks. I tend to rotate watches so they are worn pretty equally.

My idea is I can wear this watch in London for example when I don’t feel 100% wearing a Rolex (based on my reason to be in London). Or even to work when I don’t feel like wearing anything more “special”.

I would look at the Tudor GMT with either the opaline dial or the traditional black dial. They look good on bracelet/strap/NATO and will not break the bank. For the Omega Speedmaster I would look at the 1861/1863 models. A lot of value and can be had for very competitive prices. If it is about the bracelet then look at Forstners for the bracelet that looks like the one for the 3861 and it costs $195 and is nicer with more adjustability. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Check out Christopher Ward’s GMT in 39 mm. It’s reminiscent of the Rolex Explorer ll, but different . A very cool watch, with a Swiss movement, and very affordable.
