rolex 114060

hi, does anybody know how much is a replacement clasp for a Rolex submariner 114060.
i bought the watch from ebay knowing that the clasp is broken.
the option i have is to replace the clasp or a silicon strap.

My best guess is at least USD 800.00 to 900.00 and you buy it from RSC. You need to bring the watch plus the bracelet to let them verify. They will, however, keep the “damage” glidelock clasp.

Ebay purchase? I am thinking you may, have bought a possible Folex. Or, the seller may have already exchanged the original for a knock-off. Meaning, the watch is genuine but the bracelet is a Made In China fake.

Sorry, just my intuition. No offence.

there are a lot of legit watches that are sold on ebay not every single one is fake, so until pictures are posted it is impossible to say one way or the other.

I would take it to RSC or keep an eye out on this forums watch parts section glidelock clasps do come up from time to time.

@mannyv11

Yes, you could be right. I am not saying all items sold in eBay are fake. Like I mentioned, it is just an assumption (guessing) and exploring what are the possibilities how such a solid glidelock clasp can be damaged. Anyway, just wait for OP to fill us more information.

So...the seller disclosed that the clasp was broken in his item description?

And how was the clasp broken exactly? Can you provide pictures?

This is just my two cents, but...I like to buy watches, not problems.

My AD wouldn’t sell me a clasp alone, I had to get the whole bracelet, $2k.

This is what I was told by an AD also, they cannot just sell the clasp only, must be purchased as a full bracelet.

Broken

How is it broken and why is it not-repairable?

Oh man... Sorry if it is too late for you, but don't buy something, just because it seems like a good deal. If someone is selling a 114060 with a broken clasp, then chances are there is is much more wrong with the watch than a broken clasp. Any legitimate seller with a genuine 114060 will fix the watch first and then sell it.

If it looks too good to be true it probably is, and chances are that watch is a fake.

Simply to return it for a full refund would be my advice.

How much of a discount did you get because the clasp is broken? $2000 off would seem reasonable so you would be paying something in the region of $6000. If the price was much less than $6000, then something fishy is going on.

Are you getting the full set, box and all papers including original purchase receipt?

How much import duty will you have to pay?

There is no import tax in Malaysia for watches
No box no paper
I got it for 5k usd

When I won the auction I told myself, if it 's original and the clasp is to expensive I would put a rubber b on it, I know this is blasphemy, but sooner or later I will find the spare part I need.

Tell tale signs of a Folex below. I think yours looks genuine.

Flaws:
Bezel: machining too shallow, white color off, non-polished indents, pip too high, "1" font wrong (on GMT)
Movement: 21K bph, CCW date setting
Dial: thin border indices, 1000ft = 300m wrong spacing, hands too thick, non-AR cyclops, date font wrong
Bracelet: SEL should be recessed, clasp loose, casted crown sloppy
Case: thinner, crown guards shape

You mean fake? Solid end links have noticeable gaps in them. Bezel markers are clearly faded and look almost gray. That alone means it’s 100% fake no need to continue down the laundry list.

If someone thinks otherwise I would love to hear it. Granted, the pictures don’t look to be very high quality in the first place.

Sorry, that is a fake. Im really sorry you paid 5k for a broken fake.

Next time buy a complete watch, in perfect working order with the correct paperwork from a trusted seller. That way you will be happy.
