5270P picture thread

I’ve yet to see this beauty in the flesh but some of the photos on the web are stunning. I will add some of my own once I get to see the piece in June but for now here are a few of my favourites. Other great pictures welcomed.

Grey strap option with salmon dial.

Where did you see these Russell? They look amazing! Are you planning on applying for one? A PCC would be a great addition to your collection.

The pics are stunning. The watch looks like a winner. Just wish it was closer to 150k instead of 190!

That is beautiful. They truly perfected this reference with this one. For me it stands head and shoulders above the rest of the lineup.

I think the pics really look incredible. This watch for me personally is a bit big so I am not considering one. For those interested in the piece, Do you think 187K is a reasonable price point or do you think it will have to be discounted for them to sell through? Does the overall lack of performance of the 5270 family on the secondary market in general give you concern or do you consider this piece an outlier? I realize we buy these pieces to wear and enjoy and if they maintain value it is just an added bonus but the 5270Gs and R sell for substantially less than list and are easily available. Not trolling or anything like that as I love Patek Philippe, I just would like to get some insight into what other collectors think about this.

Great points to think about when you consider the cost of this watch. It is beautiful and I am sure it will be admired for many years, but will it loose a lot of value? Is that something that concerns those of us thinking about buying it?

I think platinum with the salmon dial it's probably closest to being worth MSRP, especially if they end up not making very many over the full run. 5970Ps hammer for that much or higher. People seem to really like the Lemania, but overall production on 5970s was considered to be ~2800*

I think this model's market price ultimately will depend on how many are made.

I think it will be an easy watch to find and buy. MSRP seems high to me. Try to sell it preowned to a dealer and my guess is you might have a hard time getting 125K for it.

This is a picture thread, if you want to talk values go elsewhere.

I saw the watch around 1 week ago and ordered one. At that time I asked whether it was an application piece and I was told no. Have you been told it was an application piece?

Good point but then this would be the only thread on the forum where people stick to the subject. Look at the 5167R thread, first response is a picture of a 5711!

I can't seem to capture that salmon hue from my handphone, but this 5270p dial is one of the nicest things I have seen this year

Russell if you are so sensitive please go hang out on PURISTPRO where everyone pats each other on the back. LOL! These are real concerns with buyers and a good topic IMO.
Disclaimer: I like Russell and think he adds great value to the forum

Those are certainly my concerns!!!!! Most likely I won’t be an early adopter until we see how it all plays out

Agreed.... especially when you see things like this beautiful 3970P sell for $103k all in today at auction (which in my opinion should be worth more than 5270s long term). Oh well....
