So this was a total no brainer, by far the best looking of all the 5270 iterations so far in my view, at least until the P black dial emerges!! I used to own a 5970R and leaving resale out of the equation the newer version just slightly wins out for me, mainly because the size and design of the case, which fits me slightly better than the 5970. Only slight detractor remains the sub-equator dials, but to be honest, both the 5270R and 5970R are exceptional watches in their own way.

Ok number three, and this is the highly controversial one, with most of you not liking it!

Ok so as I say - controversial and certainly one that most people feel is OTT. I posted a thread on this issue some months ago, but there were several factors at play not least that I live in Asia, where bling is in!

But seriously, I just felt that I needed to tick the box on owning a diamond watch and I just love P with black dial Pateks.

Alright, and now for number four. Some of you have guessed it, I owned one before and it is one of the very few I have regretted selling, so it needed to be repurchased! No fanfare of unsealing this time, it was mint and full set but worn, so straight to the wrist shot!

And there we have it everyone. There is really nothing to say about the 5970P - simply one of the best Pateks ever, but before I switch off the camera, let's have a group shot or two, the first with the four PCC, and the next two with my outlier non-PCC Celestial.

Thanks Larry - I think you and I are in the minority on the 5271P diamond version, but I love it too.

Holy crap dude that is AWESOME!!
I've seriously debated selling off a few and doing something similar. These are just so special compared to others in the lineup
I may need me some platinum

The lack of comments after the final unveiling is because you just made everybody pass out. I'm barely functional on my couch right now. Congrats Roger to one of the most epic unveiling threads we will see here for a long time to come.

Amazing thread Roger! Thanks so much for sharing and for all your valuable insight you give on TRF. Wear them in good health and don't let that 5970P go again LOL! While you are on this hot streak I think You need to add a little blue back in and re-acquire the 5070P (My favorite in your current PP lineup is the 5102 although they are all so damn special)
