Solid advice, think am holding off and keep my 11 Pro for another year

Latest thoughts on the 12 pro are that it’s a great phone and all, but it is very much a squared off slab of glass and metal. Holding it isn’t bad, it’s similar to the 5. With that said I think I prefer the rounded feel of the 11 pro.

New IPHONE 12 soon to be announced

IOS 14 was more disappointing than the model 12’s hardware. The 5G radio set is there, but not robust number of mmWave bands plus low and mid-band 5G.

If you have an iPhoneX or 11, you only gain a better camera with the Pro12 models. Not going to get higher speed 5G except in NFL metro’s and only outdoors for the fastest speeds.

This is not the 5G model you want unless your carrier currently has the highest speed bands up and running where you live. Apple will be sourcing more bands on their future chips in the model upgrade later next year + the iP14 in 2022.

VZ has retargeted investment away from the highest speeds because they learned the awful truth of mmW penetration of buildings. They introduced mmW 5G connectivity, but lately has focused on its lower-band airwaves. Same for ATT...the cost of new towers and rooftop leases to increase penetration is prohibitive right now.

T-Mobile has a tiny footprint of mmW, but will roll its nationwide network on low-band, as well as struggling to integrate the acquired Sprint midband Fq’s...all due to same issues above.

Just my

I don't know about you but we don't have 5G here over here yet. If it were up and running than I'd consider one. That's the only thing I can see making me upgrading from my 11 Pro Max. I hope everyone who gets a new one likes it

Given the Pixel 5 is such a complete flop, I might be going back to Apple for the first time since the second iPhone.

Any other competitors worth looking at?

I have tried really. I tried the Samsung a few different times but I always come back to Apple. IDK it is just the best eco system and user friendly in my mind.

Got mine on Friday, set it up today at work. LOL, still loading apps. Pretty much identical to my 11 other than the squared off frame like the previous models. Once I get some use and take some photos I will report back. So far, not seeing much difference. I opted for the 6.1 and I do like this size.

I’m having issues with signal on my Verizon iPhone 12 pro. My understanding is it’s a software issue on apples end. Pretty annoying because the camera and phone are otherwise good.

Might return just on principle.

That’s sucks. Check out macrumors.com and see if others are having the same issue.

Go to Settings>Celluar>Celluar Data Options>Voice & Data. Swithch the default LTE setting to 4G/5G setting and see how your signal is.

I have the iPhone 11 Pro and always had 1 signal bar in my house 'til I switched this setting to 3G. I now have 5 signal bars, always, and have no issues with data loading slower than using LTE, at all.

Well so far I am less then impressed, at least with the set up. I can’t get the phone to activate. It populated with all my info, but can’t make a call and I get the warning message phone is inactive. I put in my old sim card and it does work, but then I get a warning saying I can not use 5g with this sim card, please install the new one. Great work Verizon.

Sorry to hear this because as I mentioned, when I switched this setting my signal went to 5 bars. Good luck.

Same thing here. Make sure you turn off find my iPhone on your old one then power it off.

Call Verizon customer service they will take care of you in about 10 mins depending on call time.

Finally got it, had to talk with Verizon, not exactly encouraging but he got everything up and running. Can’t wait to try out the 5G

So, first impressions after experimenting with it most of the day, once it was up and running I am actually encouraged and pleased. 5G is not everywhere, but when I had the indicator I tried a bunch of network-related tasks including internet and Youtube, it seemed INCREDIBLY fast. I would easily compare it to my home Wifi. Even when not using a network function, the applications appear to load and operate much faster then my “old” X. It’s only one day but I am enjoying the new phone!

I got my 12 Pro Oct 29th and I noticed I have a very "yellow" screen. I compared it to my old 7 Plus, same settings on both, and its very apparent.
