100%

In all seriousness, very similar to what others have set - don't consider my watches as part of my assets / part of my net worth.

They're just fun luxury items that are extra sauce on the side.

To each their own.
I think that's a tough statement - I guess it depends on the value of your collection. If you have a collection that's a few thousand vs $100k or $1m+ it's different story at that point.

Fair enough... and you're right, serious collectors obviously are in a different category.

I'm speaking personally of course.

You're a serious collector in my book, Brian.

It’s interesting that quite a few people don’t count watches as an asset, yet posts on this forum, Facebook groups and other forums are littered with people asking about Rolexes as an investment. I would say in the last 3 or 4 years people are looking at them as better returns than bank accounts and some the stock market.

It’s a dangerous game to play but sadly that’s what I read on a daily basis.

Banks consider most higher value goods with a serial number as an asset. Registered Horses, Watches , Autos, Boats etc. Many lenders will accept them as collateral. To me spending 1% -3% of net worth on watches is not being extravagant.
