Are you kidding? For the ridiculous price of NZ$54,000, I could buy a brand new Honda Euro Accord with enough left over to buy a full gold DD!!!

How much now? Can there really be a market for these things... at that price too?

I've actually seen and held one at my AD when I went to pick up my Platty.

I was very impressed with the immense heft of the thing and the overall finish. It looks much better in WG than the YG version. It's a very super looking watch, but that damned horseshoe on the dial is a complete turn off!!

OK that I could see as the heft and feel of a WG Rolex would be most impressive... but then you see that horseshoe and BIG letters labeled across the bezel and... YUCK!

I still regret that I missed by only a half hour a friend of Roger Fs buying a platinum DD from our local AD... I would have loved to try that baby on!

I'm not getting you here JJ the rest of what else is WG? We know the hands are WG, and Jocke's tutorial showed us that the dial is made of Plat, right?

So what am I not getting here?

I meant that ONLY the bezel is Pt.....the rest of the watch case as well as the bracelet are WG. Not sure about the dial. Jocke's tutorial was on the Platty that I own, i.e. the YM-I.

Gotcha. That's probably why it's advertised as a WG YM II
