the more I see it ….

the more I love it !

I know …

IMPOSSIBLE to get but man I love this piece

And it might be an exception but in this case I really do prefer the yellow gold
The enamel multi colored dial and the yellow gold gave the watch such a warm vintage feeling

Just mesmerizing

I love that dial. My next PP will be a complication. This is making it high up on my list. I just have to wrap my head around why I should go with this complication, when an annual or an annual/chrono is roughly the same price, yet seems to be more complicated.

I am waiting as well and would be happy with G or J as both are spectacular!

Are the enamel dials hand decorated? Seems there is variation between pictures I've seen?

I know nobody knows but I wanted to ask

How long duo you think they'll make it ?
ALL references are discontinued after some time

and the yellow is already 6 years or so in production

I think even 95 of the people that are on a list will never get one.
Being on a list means nothing if they stop producing it

2 years ago I asked in the Geneve boutique, probably the most important Patek boutique in the world.

They guy answered me : Sir, we get a lot more of these pieces than any AD, we get 2 per year and in a good year 3
Most AD never see one and those that do will get one every 3 till 7 years

Most important, he said they closed the list when the reached 100 clients
Which was insane cause that means a waiting between 33 and 50 years
You know this will never happen. Probably only the 15 first on the list will be lucky.

Most AD I contacted have 3 people on the list but they just don't get the piece, and if so …. one every 5 years

I doubt that they have an actual list. I think they just give to whoever they want, the decision is mostly up to the salon (and boutique) directors and entitled personel. That's how I feel it, I could be wrong though.

Yep, after seeing how the Taiwanese guy got his 5131, don't think there is a list either.

Basically the guy only bought one watch from Boodles (5961P) and was invited to a private Patek tour organised by Boodles. During the tour he met Patek's UK region manager and he complained how hard it was to get a 5131 (he tried for many years in Taiwan, an AD actually offered him one, at twice the MSRP), the manager told him he will allocate one to him and a few weeks later he got one at MSRP.

So even if there is a list, I think it's like Hermes's Birkin list, because they don't tell you when you will get it, so in effect there is no list.

They sell it to whoever they deemed more important to them at the time, you can be first on the list but it won't mean s%$# if there's a VVIP behind you.

Hand made by one, and only one, female employee. Most dials don't make it and get tossed. Very very difficult and precise procedure.

Took a little over a year to get mine. When I compare it to the others I have seen, every dial is a bit different. All are unique.

Thank you for the answer

It's a beautiful piece, you're very lucky to have it.

Salihy, I think you basically summed up the process, at least for the 5131.

Most application pieces are sent to an AD or salon with the collector's name written on it. The applicant has to go through an extensive application, listing all the Patek pieces one has along with some background information about one's occupation, etc.

However, I hear the 5131 is an exception. They are sent to the AD and it is up to the store owner/manager to give it to whomever he wants. An AD may still have a "waiting list", but can give it to anyone on the list or an entirely different client. Of course, if you have a personal relationship with the AD owner/manager or the regional director who often has a lot of influence in allocating specific watch references and quantity to stores in the region, it will be quite helpful.
