Uk 2012 gtg

Hey folks,

It's a new year, and that means one thing - we need to get another GTG sorted! With the Olympics being held in London in the summer, it might make it difficult to get something sorted out in the Capital, so any suggestions for meeting points and dates would be excellent

Looking forward to another great GTG!

Chris

How about an alternative capital... Edinburgh!

Great! I've spoken to a few of the other members and a few seem happy about travelling "op noth" to Manchester/Wilmslow, they have many watch stores and the brand spanking new Rolex Boutique

You mean the fabled "North of Watford....." Chris??

WTF Guys....??

You mean there really IS a place called "oop North " where people say "Why Aye!" and "by'eck" and "ecky thoomp".....???

..... and the females are "lasses" or "pet"s and the men wear shells suits and hop from one foot to the other exclaiming "kahm dahn then eh?" at the same time they strip the wheels off an F reg' Vauxhall Astra?!?

WOW!!

For forty two years I've always thought it was just a telly series?!?!?

Deal me in chaps whenever & wherever I'll be there.....

But open to suggestions

Was gonna say I am defiently coming to the next one. I know I lamed out of the last one. Was hoping it was gonna be in London.

Ok what about Nottingham, have just found out they have opened up the first UK Hooters there. We could have it there.

Oooh. Is it that time of year already ? My preference would be London in June or September as I agree that it will be impossible during the Olympics. However, I'm open to suggestions and will try and fit in with the flow (especially as I'm a lightweight who leaves early anyway).

Nathan, how soon after the Olympics do you think it will take for London to get back to normal?

Not that I wouldn't mind seeing the UK countryside but....

Mon, after the Olympics there's the Paralympics. The closing ceremony for this is 9th September. I reckon that things will quieten down during them but it won't be back to normal until around 17th onwards.

I think from the sounds of things London would be the preferred option then, June/early July time. I'll start having a look at individual dates and see if we can bag a bargain on hotel rooms
