that's right I heard that too, glad its confirmed. Green offshore diver looks like a clear winner for now!!!

Will the quick release strap system be available for all new offshores and not just the divers?

thanks for sharing, so the article says it's 38.6k CHF that's $41k. Did they lower the price or are they just more expensive here in the US 47k or 6k difference is a lot.

It’s about 45k us. I just talked with my sales. I’m getting a white gold one.

Indeed. While it's not possible due to the case design (from what I'm told), I would like it more if it was full ceramic.

haha for sure I’ll post some pics when I have it. It’s not cheap but I feel like fuck it. Buy it while it’s still attainable, this might hype up the code line. Get ready in line for next year anniversary.

It's CHF 90,150.

So on that note, I think it should display the USD price when it finally shows up on the website (if they go by past precedent -- where only >=100k CHF watches don't show a USD-converted price).

I don't think they changed the thickness on the divers.

you might be right but who knows how long this crazy watch world will last... does anybody know if the boutiques have watches again or is it still empty?

might as well be $2 or $2m, I still would not get one allocated but one can drool over it... such a cool piece.

I think the hype machine pandora's box has been opened, and so the watch madness will remain for a long time (it just might change allegiances with respect to brands or models, but it's not going to "improve" in the sense that things will be less idiotic for us die hard collectors). :(

The only way I see it improving is for AP, Patek, Rolex, those folks, to adjust production to actually get closer to demand (i.e., where it might have been previously). Right now it's so heavily skewed away from where the demand is. I know the goal is to never *meet* the demand, but this is much further away from that metric than ever before.

Boutiques don't have stock, still, from what I've been told.

A valid point.

That said, I think it's silly for it to be only drool-able despite being the same exact watch as the rest, just in a different metal (which, coincidentally is cheaper than gold) and a different color.

This isn't the same as the LaFerrari vs a 458 Italia discussion. This is a 458 in Green with some Carbon Fiber vs. a 458 in Red with no CF.

I am not a 100% certain but pretty sure that the LaFerrari doesn't come in a green that 458 Italia is not available in, right?

Kidding aside you have a point, but cost of raw material discussion is kind of pointless at this point. I thing somebody here wrote that its harder to make watches out of platinum than gold no?
where will this trade 200k out the gate or more ?

It's all pointless, indeed.

My point really is that it's barely a different watch, and the market goes berserk over it.

For this one, I'd wager the first grey to get their hands on one will list it at $300k, as yet another example of how watch collecting has become a lot less fun (to me) compared to barely 5 years ago.

It's "harder" to make anything out of Platinum vs. Gold, but the level of difficulty is negligible for a company like AP. If I was handmaking the case (like the Greubel Forsey Hand Made 1) then maybe I'd have a much harder time than if it was gold.

Level of difficulty doesn't mean much these days unless we're talking exotic materials like what RM does.

Plus, it's harder to polish a titanium case than it is to polish platinum.

But, my argument wasn't really about the cost of the metal, more than it's simply a slightly differently dressed up Ferrari 458, it's not an entirely different car.

100% agreed, but I guess most of APs line up is the same watch more or less in different dial/ metal variation. I truly like the watches a lot and I don't really mind the one trick pony concept because for me there is enough variety anyway but I am too frustrated over the lack of availability of anything really.

I have not really checked prices lately but I might be going grey for a really unique piece. But I would have to hit some kind of career milestone to "justify" spending 100k-150k on a watch. No amount of relationship/ schmoozing game I will ever qualify me for a tourbillion in titanium or some CE piece that I lust after.

I'm hoping everyone hates the Green, that way I can actually get some for a change.

Blue is so much nicer.

Blue is the way forward. Green is icky.

Green is often associated with sickly-ness.

Why would any idiot want that on a watch dial?
