PJ is like the sexy (knowledgeable) promoter girls hanging outside of large nightclubs (watch brands) but urging you instead to go to the smaller niche ones in the back alley (indies).

he sent me to the GS boutique in knightsbridge. I actually went.

I still don't get the brand, but i really loved the displays of their movements all taken apart. I wish more brands would do that.

Thats as "back alley" as Knightsbridge gets. They don't even have a door man. I just stood outside for a minute waiting for something to happen, looking like an idiot

Well he's earned his commission for the night, or is that just some free drinks.

Come on PJ we all want at least one wrist shot. Please humour us!

I'll start a poll and see just how many people are interested. If we get 100 votes will you do it

Yes, I'm absolutely sure the 5522 could've been offered with a bracelet — it's just a modern everyday Pilot–themed watch.
IWC put a bracelet on their Spitfire & Mark XVI–XVIII, and no-one batted an eyelid — so it's not an alien concept for pieces produced in the 21st Century.
If authenticity is your primary concern, then maybe you should be more surprised that Patek went with an atypical crown design for a vintage-inspired Pilots watch.
Bracelet??? On the 5522???? Eeeewwwwwww. Gross!

Looks like we might not get the chance to see it as he got a free pass again when the poll was removed

For some, it may as well be – after all, it comes with the blessing from Saint Thierry of Stern himself.

Now there's a man who appears to know what he's doing.

Ask Neil, Tom, and RussW – they’ll vouch for my wrist…and the thing that was attached to it.
It’s there for all to see, if a small bit of effort is made.
Full disclosure…my wrist isn’t anything special, so be prepared for disappointment.

Just wouldn't be worth all the endless arguing with people saying but I can get these for fifty quid down the mall.

BTW I didn't see PJ's wrist shot, if there was one, I woke up to find the poll gone.

Ok so after being quoted ridiculous prices from a few grey dealers (yes they are getting the watch), one quote was 57,000 USD!!!! I decided this was never going to happen for me. I missed the window to apply for the piece by two weeks and really I was deciding if I even liked the watch...which I do. Whether or not the watch is more attractive to me because I cant get it is an entirely different topic. That being said I go a text message from an AD I have worked with since I was in college many years ago and it said simple "good news is coming my way", of course she is referring to the 5522 and someone may be backing out....SO good vibes please I'm hoping to get the call this week!!!
