Hey guys... I'm sorry for posting things that are considered "click bait." I thought I was bringing something to the table, but I guess I have been more of an irritant to people than someone who was expressing joy and enthusiasm after falling in love with rolexforums.com.

I didn't mean to disrespect anyone. I have this sudden thirst for knowledge about Rolex. I was admonished today in the vintage forum and told to take some time off and do some reading on my own (to educate myself).

I had wrongly assumed that it was okay to ask experts, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts questions about Rolex watches... that it is better to become knowledgeable by oneself and then be able to carry on a conversation after having that knowledge. I had seen others ask questions, so I thought it was okay. I guess I kind of envisioned a social environment in which a new guy with some knowledge could approach others with questions. Sorry for my misconduct.

With regards to the photoshopping... I am really pumped about Basel and what might be released/changed. I was just trying to be playful with some of the photoshopped images. It wasn't meant to offend anyone. I'm kind of a joker/class clown type. I thought it would all be taken in a light-hearted manner. Apparently I was wrong in certain cases.

So thanks for the constructive criticism and pointing me in the right direction. I plan to stick around, of course, but will curtail my posting activity somewhat so that I don't end up making people super upset with me.

Sincerely,
Tom Wentworth

Lol.

An added benefit of this new release is that as one’s arm swings it breaks down automobile exhaust into far less harmful components. Rolex’s first green watch. Well, second green watch after the Hulk.

You're alright, Tom. Just dial back the "leaked photo" thing. Some people don't know it's a joke. You could maybe post your Photoshops as your own conceptual mock-ups, so people don't get all worked up that you're posting click bait

Several have probably pre-ordered one already.

Thanks for the thought Mr. Stone. I will do that... although I will slow down on the starting of new threads. Thanks for the constructive advice.

No need to apologize, Tom. I'm sorry if me calling your thread(s) clickbait came off as harsh - that wasn't my intention. I think we're all pretty excited about Basel and seeing threads that appear to be posing as legitimate or official Rolex news feels misleading when we click in and realize it's just someone having fun - which in and of itself is totally OK btw. Perhaps it would help to not try passing off threads as official Rolex news/Basel leaks so folks expectations are managed and they don't feel misled after the fact.

Please continue to contribute and ask questions - we're all here to share and learn from one another!

No need to apologize at all. I thought it was funny. Your topic has no less merit than all the many predictive and wishful threads this time of year every year.

Understood... Basically the same advice from Mr. Stone... I kind of thought, in my own mind, that saying I had a leaked Basel photo was akin to saying here is a funny picture to take a look at. Now I know better than to suggest that I have a leaked photo. I kind of understood that there is probably no way that anyone would have access to a leaked photo from Rolex. Maybe that assumption is wrong, but that was kind of what I thought... I was not intentionally trying to mislead people into thinking I had special access to Rolex photos. Sorry for the misguided attempts at injecting my sense of humour... From now on, when I photoshop something, I will be sure to announce that it is a photoshop done by me rather than some special secret leaked photo. Thanks to everyone for providing a seriously cool environment to converse about Rolexes.

I understand... my fake Basel leak reports are finished. I didn't mean to mislead anyone. I just didn't understand protocol and will now move forward with a better understanding. Thanks for the input. It is sincerely appreciated.

I warned you about this a while ago, and then you decided to step up even more with these silly photoshop threads. You make good contributions in normal posts so no need to start these.

I actually like most photoshop sneak peaks. It’s fun to see something that actually looks good. For example, someone posted a pink Submariner with a beautiful sunburst dial last week. While it was a joke, it looked great, and the ladies would’ve been snapping them up.

This one however looked like a ten year old tried out Photoshop for the first time. I don’t mind killing time looking at quality work. I just think if you are gonna do it, you need at least a couple of drafts before the final version. A little effort goes a long way .
