Sub Bracelet

So I am going to look at a 2-liner 14060m this weekend. 2003/Y serial. The seller is a local AD who has been selling Rolex for over 50 years. Good reputation. I never bought from them (hopefully first Rolex) but the guy seems trustworthy and I like him. Good vibes.

Talking to the dealer, he mentioned the bracelet may be a new Rolex replacement. But, in looking at some of his other subs on line, one listing for another sub mentioned it had a new bracelet. The listing for the watch I am looking at did not. So I think he mixed up the watch that had the new bracelet.

I spoke to him again and he had talked with his tech and they think it is the Original bracelet. But he said you can’t really tell.

Questions

1). Is there an easy way to tell for a rookie like me? I don’t have any pictures so I know I am worthless. I trust the guy, but I also don’t want to be a chump. I intend to look at the patina wear and that sort of thing.

2) how much would it matter if it were a new “official” bracelet?

I don’t intend this to be a museum piece for investment and will likely be wearing it a lot.

Thanks

It should have a clasp code that is in the same couple of years as the case. We have codes listed in the Reference Library.

They all used the same bracelet, it is pretty unlikely that a watch that new would have had the bracelet replaced.

Good advice from Larry (Tools).
Also, keep in mind that the bracelet could still be original but have a service clasp. You would be able to see an "S" to the left of the code. If this is the case and you like the watch, a service clasp is hardly a concern.
