Matte Service Dial?
I just dropped my 16750 off at my local AD for a service. I bought it about 10 years ago for a song. It was all NOS to include a replacement case. With that said, I can’t identify the exact year it was made, and was hoping to swap the gloss dial for a matte service dial during the service. The watchmaker is a certified Rolex watchmaker (he graduated from the US Rolex repair school in Pennsylvania, USA) and according to him, Rolex no longer offers matte service dials as there are none left in stock.
I was hoping to confirm the above amongst the gurus. Thanks in advance. I’ll post before and after pics when I get it back.

Mods, If this thread doesn’t gain any traction can you please move it to the General Discussion? If there’s a chance of me obtaining a matte service dial, I’d like to grab it before my service is completed. Thanks.

I don’t believe there is a matte service dial for the 16750. As the model transitioned to white gold surrounds during its production, that is the style of service dial that is offered. Same thing with the 5513.

I think you may be right, I’ve been digging and the only original dials I can find are through private sellers asking exorbitant amounts. I’m guesssing I’ll give it a miss and stick with my original dial. It still looks great, and being mostly NOS it’s a great daily driver.

In the time that I have been collecting GMTs, I have only seen two GMT 16750s with matte service dials. They are vary rare in my opinion and as mentioned, are no longer in use by Rolex. All the service dials now have gold surround markers.
