I PM’d a few observations. My biggest question is the case. The “1665” doesn’t look right. I can’t find any reference to a 1665 with a foot on the 1. And the REGISTERED DESIGN or ORIG ROLEX DESIGN depending on year is missing.

It looks like a Rail dial 1665. Watches of this age can sometimes have numbers worn away or be difficult to see. It looks great to me!

I agree it is a rail dial. But the rail dial is from much later (5.7-6.2 serial) the serial range for a rail dial doesn’t match the case serial on this one and I have yet to see any 1665 case numbers that have a 1 with a foot on it. I am no expert on these though. Hopefully someone with more expertise on 1665‘s can confirm one way or another.

There are definitely issues here. For starters, it should be a double-red dial, up to about 5.2 mil. versions of the 1665.
