16520
Guys,
I am new in the forum, thaks for accepting me! I would like to add some new watches to my little collection, I am tempted to buy a 16520, I loive it! I saw many post on that watch, I am a bit confused, witch series would you look for? I want an everyday watch to wear, not a collection one to be kept in the safe. What do you suggest? |

the Daytona craze is wild. It's been going crazy and the Paul Newman auction really send things out of this world. Zenith vs whatever else, have you even tried it on? Some say it's to small and others want the bigger case size of the other Subs, GMT's etc. I would say before jumping into the complicated world of vintage anything try on some watches.
See which one your like the feel, weight, etc. Would you want the ceramic bezel vs metal? the clasp, do you like modern or vintage? a lot of things to consider that trying on may help you figure out. |

Either try to find the last series (A or P series) or the earlier ones (inverted 6).

This is the holy grail. R series floating cosmograph with a porcelain dial. Here’s a picture of mine that I sold like a complete idiot.

I have 4 SS Daytonas and two of them are 16520 (black): the U-series (bracelet has hollow endlinks) is for daily use and the A-series (bracelet has solid endlinks which is more rare and commands a higher price) is a keeper in the safe. I have to say aesthetically 16520 is my favorite Daytona model compared to the 6-digit versions. So good taste and good choice and good luck hunting :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

HI Guys, sorry, I was very busy at work and i did not have the time to concentrate on this, I have been offered an A Serie Black Dial and an E serie white.
I have to say I love the white. I am not sure the E is for a frequent use, in the hand it looks very fragile comparing the A with Solid Links, but the charme of the brushed bracelet it is really attracting me. I will keep you posted. I am everyday more in love with this reference. |
