I like them all but have always chosen the ND Submariner-C. I like the clean and balanced dial and I also have not need for the depth rating on the SD.

I kinda liked the ND Sub C on the wrist ,
It just felt really light compared to the SD4K C.
Plus the graduated bezel on the SD4K really does it for me.
Overall like my SD4K more ...
Though I didn’t get a chance to look at and try on Sub C date LN.

The SD43 is more special than either of those two in my opinion. 50th anniversary edition, red text, increased size sets it apart from the Sub.

Let me help you on this one.

Sell the 116613LB. Lovely as it is, you know its a bit on the "loud/flashy" side. That, and it being discontinued, is why you bought the SD4k after all.

And if you do flip the SD4K, why have two Subs? The whole point of owning the SD4K is that its not just another Sub (unless you're a saturation diver)

Clearly you're not convinced with either. So sell them both, pick up an SD43 from a trusted seller and pocket the $ difference.

You know you want to

Hard to say which is more "special." But all things considered, the SD4K was such a short run it's is far more limited in how many are out there. It's a great watch, I should have kept mine.

I love the sub, both date and nd, had the date for a while and love it but flipped it due to it being there and everywhere, everyone seems to be wearing it and I just felt it's not me.

Bought the sd4 at launch and still love it now despite it being a heftier watch to wear than the sub but i appreciate the rarity and niche collector circle.

Will i go to a sub again? Its a inner debate that's ongoing lol

You can definitely tell sharing same layout as the Sub Date window on the dial, but those on Subs are purposely aligned this way to account for cyclops magnification. The SD is kind of quirky but cool in its own right

I prefer and own a SubC. However the SD4K is a special piece and has everything going for it. If I wanted a SD that would be my choice hands down.

Way opposed to the large lugged case so 16600 or SD4k

SD4K is overshadowed by the new one currently but they'll become more special soon. It's basically a 40mm version. And the Maxicase seems to be in it for the long haul.

I don’t see the new sea dweller 43 in the same light ...
40 mm is the legend ... 43 mm is the new chapter and
new species/race of deep sea !!!

I love my Sub and while I do think the case looks a little chunky in pictures I love it on the wrist. I like the no date dial and slim profile and have no need for a helium escape valve.

But.....the SD4K is sweet! Great lines and a great matte dial. It’s more expensive then I want to spend for my daily watch but I get the appeal and it’s an awesome choice.

I’d still pick my Sub all over again, but the SD4K is probably the cooler option for most people.

SD43 doesn’t appeal to me at all.

Good points .... only thing about the 114060 I have is
that it’s so light on the wrist . I guess that could be a plus or
minus ... All depends on how you view it ...

I suppose the SD is more “special” because there’s a lot less of them. I prefer the sub (date) because I like the thinner profile and the cyclops. But now that the sd is discontinued everyone suddenly loves them.

I'm always partial to the Sea Dweller over a Sub. I still have my 16660 acquired new in 1984.

You get a Cyclops that makes NO sense and the dorky oversized case...I’ll take a Classic SD4K any day.

You get a top heavy, thicker, more expensive Sub with a misplaced date window that literally no one outside of this forum can tell apart from a Sub. If I wanted a 40mm diver I'd stick with a Sub...

Versus the Sub, as I stated. Versus the SD43 the thickness is the same, however the larger case and wider bracelet balance it out better and, yes, make the SD43 less top heavy.

The date window is in the same place as a
Sub C Date minus cyclops
Top Heavy ???
Sub C feels very flimsy in comparison to the SD4K...
Not sure exactly what you are eluding to ...
it’s all a matter of preference . When I wear a Rolex
I wanna feel some heft to it ... that’s all ...

Little bias here but I always thought the SD4K was more busy to the sub. The bezel just turns me off with having the second ticks. I know it’s intended as a tool watch but one reason I would not buy one.

I have had this debate in my head many times.

Between the SD 116600 or the 126600 vs the Submariner 116610

I have to choose the sub. The glossy black dial gets me every time. I had a 16600 before trading it off (dumb decision) which was not a matte dial like the SD4K or the SD50.

The dial alone makes the sub way more special in my mind. I think the additional minute markers on the SD bezel does busy the watch up some. The sub is very ubiquitous.

Matte dials just don't ring my bell like the glossy ones, peer over at the date window sometime, the enamel paint just pours into the window like its still wet.

I have owned the previous Sea Dweller and the new one. They are thick and bigger watches. The Sub wears so much better, and no one wears a “dive watch” anymore while actually diving. I’m PADI Nitrox and Advanced Open Water with a dive planned for this week in the Bahamas. I’ll be taking my Suunto D6i Novo as my only “watch.”

You can't really go wrong either way, so try them both on your wrist and go with the one that you 'feel' better with (if you don't care about the price difference that is).

Personally I prefer the minimalistic purity of the SubC (and the price)

SD4K is a great watch. I'd choose it over the Sub. Far more unique choice.
