Nice patina, but that case has been polished too much for my liking, especially those poor crown guards. What's the beginning of the serial number?

Here's a great thread on the differences of the white 1680 dials:

Yeah i thought the patina looked good, yeah i didn't spot the crown guards to start with, i think its too much for my liking too,

i haven't got the beginning of the serial number unfortunately but on the advert it states 1975 hope that helps,

Mark I white like mine. Dial, hands and insert look really nice. I think the pearl has been replaced, but that's not a huge deal.

Case condition as noted is a bit off. I think it has a 703 on it which makes the crownguards look even worse than they are. Changing to a 702 will help a lot, but obviously will not rebuild the case.

Movement looks clean in that picture but I like to see the rotor is not/was not rubbing the mainplate.

Great daily wear piece!

Edit: Just noticed it's either a service or aftermarket crystal on it. Correct top hats are under $200 but that should be factored in.

Edit 2: Is the pearl "flush" with the insert? I've never seen that before. They never break off cleanly like that.

Those crown Guards are shot,I’d pass.1680 Whites are everywhere but finding a nice all original specimen is a whole new Ballgame. It’s a shame as that Patina is excellent.

Agree with all the comments above, nice Mk1 dial but case has thin lugs and crown guards .......and from the photos the pip on the insert does look a bit strange. Just had a look at it on the dealers website, another photo shows the springbar slightly protruding from the top right lug. They are a reputable dealer who usually ask absolutely top prices, on this one they are asking £1,500 below UK dealer price for a White with original dial and hands but without papers. I think the price reflects their assessment that it's not one of the best examples out there. You are doing the right thing in asking for opinions and taking your time to find a goodun

Thanks,This particular Sub Case is a thing to be seen.Whoever pumped this One out at the Factory was on their A Game and it’s somehow lasted 40yrs without being polished.
