Need help to ID

Hi all, and apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post. I inherited this watch from my Dad and can't find any serial number between either the 6 or 12 o'clock lugs. Any ideas how to identify it? Thanks!

PS: I know it needs a good cleaning, I'm taking it in as soon as I can ID for insurance purposes.
