Trade an Explorer II for a Yachtmaster, help

Hello, I need some advice. I have a very small wrist, slightly over 6 inches. I currently own the Explorer II, 40mm. I love the size of the face however the lugs extend slightly over my wrist. I have been told that the Yachtmaster may be a better fit because the lugs are curved. Can anyone tell me if this is true? Also would you advice trading my Explorer II for the Yachtmaster. Although my explorer II is only about 1.5 years old I understand that I will have to bring money out of my pocket to make this happen. Also if anyone with a small wrist owns the Yachtmaster I would appreciate any photos that you may have.

I'd say the YM wears bigger than the Explorer 2. (Old model)

The YM does have a slightly bigger appearance in my opinion. The curved lugs don't make that much of a difference.
Go try it on before making a deal.

My mate has an old yachtmaster and its definitely bigger (marginally) compared to my exp 2. Although that is looking at the two side by side. If you were replacing one with the other I'm sure you'd hardly notice if at all.

As I understand it, you are considering the YM mainly because it might be more comfortable and not necessarily because you prefer its looks? If yes, then I would seriously think twice about making the switch - nothing against the YM but I wouldn't buy any watch unless its looks really appealed to me.

As for price - the YM costs more than tne Exp 2 but how much you'd have to pay would depend on the ages of the two watches.

I'd keep the explorer myself. I had a YM platinum for a few months and at first I thought it was great but it felt like a shiny Sub without the depth rating. It lost its sparkle in my eyes. I also dislike the name, it just sounds a bit too....I dunno.

Try on the YM full size & midsize to see if either are more comfortable to you then your current explorer II.

I currently own both models and have to say that the platinum YM wears bigger and heavier than the EXP II.

I concur with many fellow members that you should go to your AD and try on different models and sizes to see what feels best.

Yesterday I went to my AD and tried on the DJII and the Milgauss. They felt completely different on my wrist and looked different as well.

Have fun with trying new ones on and buy what makes you happiest!

I think the Explorer is more like a classic, however, you should wear whatever you prefer and like, ie. why wear a YM if it is not the watch that you like or prefer. Also, there are people that has 7.5" wrist an they wear a big 47mm PAM or a 50mm Invicta.

I had an Exp II (16570) and loved the way it wore on my 6.25" wrist.

I also had the previous version YM (16220) and can say it was a touch more comfortable to wear due to the flat caseback and slightly tapered lugs. However, I did like like the dial and hand combo of the YM. It was illegible for me in low light situations (i.e., watching the tv at home in a dim room or in a restaurant).

I would trade a small degree of comfort for a large degree of usability. Consequently, the YM lasted less than one week.

Keep the Explorer II.
