Sub C FTW! Who cares if everyone has it. As long as I like it that's all that matters. The blue and black GMT is nice also tho.

This is a very tough call - I have always been a fan of the GMT II C but over the last few months I have started to appreciate the simple elegance and timeless design of the Sub-C date.

For some reason I now find the Bezel on the GMT II C a bit too "busy" and (especially the BLNR which I am not longer a fan of) so have gravitated toward the Sub-C.

I also own a 16710 Pepsi and I now prefer this to my GMT II C - i think the large digits on the Bezel distract from the elegance of the watch. I much prefer the lettering on the bezel of the 16710.

You cannot go wrong with either but if i was choosing i would go with the Sub-C. It is a timeless classic.

I owned a Sub 16800 20 some years ago. I bought the GMT C for several years and recently went back to the Sub model with a 116610. I feel like I came back home. They are both very nice watches.
If I could have both I would. But my vote goes for the SubC.

I agree with you. The new black and blue bezel on GMT is a mistake. I'm waiting for a new GMT with black and red bezel. At this time my Sub C gets my vote. :)

I faced the same choice when I bought and went with the gmt. As I've always wanted a sub a new sub c will be my next purchase. I love the 116710 blue/noire. Had that been available when I bought my LN I think I might have purchased that one.

The BLNR is pure Rolex to me. I love my Sub C but it gets no wrist time since The BLNR came in. The BLNR feels like a mature Rolex design. It's not all that crazy innovative over the previous versions but it feels like the culmination of the most original complication and iconic watch Rolex has made. It has all the new tech and the best of the legacy to this point. I think it's perfect. Let's see what happens at Basel though...

A SS Daytona with black (or white!) cerachrom bezel would throw me into a tailspin. Mostly because it's going to be out of the budget at the prices it will command.

Well, in the end I got the BLNR. I have a heap of other pretty (and functional) watches, but after 5 months none of them are getting any wrist time at all... except for the GMT. The blue isn't obtrusive and the GMT hand is useful when traveling OS. I'm tempted to flog all the others which are just cluttering up the drawer.

Owned both, like both equally. If the GMTIIc had the glide lock, it would be a really hard choice. The GMTIIc is a great watch. I miss mine.

I love both... I like the stainless GMT for the polished center links. I have a stainless and a gold with black dial.

But my brother recently purchased a blue ceramic sub and I love the color...

Just get a white gold sub blue on blue and call it a day.

I say Sub-C first and then if that scratch isn't itched, go for the GMT-C. You can't go wrong with either, just follow you heart.

i am biased because of the history and use of the gmt but it was the first one to come out in ceramic and no other gmt comes close.

Just picked up my new GMT II SS with PCL. As we can all see from varying posts here a
Watch design is purely a matter of personal taste. Some of us love the PCL and others wouldn't ever consider it. I read several post last night about people who love the blue black GMT. I personally would never buy that model, I tried it on and not seeing the hype, but that's my humble opinion.

I chose the GMT II SS because of how the overall package looked and made me feel. The watch is a timeless classic design and versatile for dressing up for work and sporty enough when you hit the weekend.

The Submariner is a wonderful watch, but it's not for me Yet, I may pick it
Up in the future, but I wanted my first Rolex to be the gmt.

My advice: stop reading other people's opinions, just go to your AD and put the watch on your wrist and see if you connect. I recommend trying on all the models you have in your budget and seeing what you connect with and how the watch makes you feel.

Im a GMT Fan, I have the Explorer II and an original GMT Pepsi. I was standing in line to see the new black and Blue, when I deployed again (also a reason I like the GMT's so much I spend a lot of time out of the country). As I was leaving El Paso in March I received a call that my AD had a "Bruno" (that is what they are calling the black and blue) in stock. I was already on the highway so I had to pass. A month later I found out that Rolli is releasing the Pepsi (its white gold and $40000) but hey, a boy can dream!

Hands Down the GMT - BTW, I ordered a Black BEZEL for my GMT from my AD and switched them out for a little while. Its a nice feature that isn't replicated in the current models.
