16520 patrizzi question
I came across black 16520 s serial zenith dayton without paper.
The sub dial looks nice cream color.. Is cream sub dial and s serial considered patrizzi? Would cream color turn to brown over time? Thank you. |

First I have edited your post as it should be ref 16520 the so called Patrizzi dial is little more than a paint imperfection and it only appears in some Rolex Daytona 16520 watches. Its mainly down to Rolex using zapon and this was a organic varnish. Now on some models the sub dials were not sufficiently protected and the silver content of the varnish turned brown.Speaking for myself would never pay extra for one of these types of dials, but everyone to there own IMHO its very much overrated.

My 1988 model's subdials are a pleasant cream color. The thing that really sets these dials off is when you look at them at an oblique angle in the sunshine wearing polarized glasses. WOW! This picture does not come close to illustrating what I'm describing.

Lovers of the look may pay the uplifted prices but the majority of Daytona lovers will likely pass and put that money into a PM Daytona. Just my 2¢

Congrats on the PM.... I think if I read the moderators response correctly the answer to your original questions are no and no.
