Looks like a well used sub. case is polished, missing hash mark paint, missing lume at 2. wrong bracelet, damaged hands. Sub has seen better days.
To answer your question, I don't think you would be making a mistake by selling. You can do better. Unless of course this watch has sentimental value? |

Can you tell me the first 3 numbers of your watches serial number and the date on the bracelet clasp? It's also hard to say for sure because bracelets were produced at different times than watch heads. But there is an idea of what is most commonly seen and accepted among collectors |

Depending on year and region and what was in stock they could come on a US C-I rivet, Swiss 7206/6636 rivet or a folded 9315. No one would have issues with either band in the late 60’s.

What are prices running these days? I have two Reds, owned since new, both MKIIs, I think. One with Twinlock crown, the other with a Triplock. I see prices on eBay and wonder if they're for real.

Rolex 1680 Red Mk1
Mine has the old twin lock.. price? 20/25/30/35 from what I’m understanding for a full set you can ask what you want.

69 is the last year rolex produced the 7206, so yes that bracelet would be correct if it is original to the watch. Rare format for sure

I wouldn’t say “no one would have an issue” Personally I would want mine to be on a 9315 but that’s just me. Tasters choice

Awesome looking watch. I love the rivet bracelet on those early ones. I would take the rivets on an early sub over 9315 any day. Looks great to me.

If you are one of those guys who wants a completely mint original untouched example...that's going to bring a huge price tag. This one looks like a great example to me.

I think that is very rare to find a 215xxxx serial never touched..only polished with all his natural wear after 50 years.. I prefer it instead of a watch with a restored dial..ecc ecc.

Otherwise I want OP to feel good about his piece if he loves it. But if he is having doubts and seeking advice, I am here to give my best evaluation. Some don't have a problem with a rivet, some want a 9315, tasters choice. However I like the more common formats that's all. I believe also the insert should be a long 5 for a piece this early esp if it's sporting a 69 rivet. Just food for thought. Wasn't trying to be hard on the OP or his piece. He also sent me a PM looking for advise as well. However, his original post has been changed and edited. OP's original response said he was thinking of selling his watch and seeking advice on the piece itself. It was last edited by a Mod. Not sure why, so I can see how now my response may look harsh and unwelcome at this point. |

I'm not expert but that looks like a very nice watch. It's also Meters First which is amazing.
