Hodinkee - IWC...
...Teaser running on the site. https://limited.hodinkee.com/iwc/
Any guesses on newest Hodinkee'd LE? I could see something like the smaller format pilot like IWC + The Rake They like them sub 39mm at the dink https://therake.com/stories/watches/...ke-revolution/ |

I'm assuming it's the same as the Rake LE. Like the Heuer Skipper LEs from both, same watch with a different dial. I don't think that would be a bad outcome, assuming the watch has no date window like the Rake LE.
Perhaps it's something completely different though. Whatever it is hopefully it's ready to go, unlike the Speedmaster which is months behind in terms of delivery for the majority. |

a smaller mark xviii/something similar to the rake version is probably the most obvious answer; I could also see a big pilot variant.

yeah certainly had the same thought
All good hypotheses Although with the heavy for them pre-marketing, maybe a more permanent addition like their Heuer Autavia? Given their whole John Mayur affiliation I do hope for something meaningfully different vs another take on the The Rake piece. |

This is not meant for normal people/collectors. The Rake edition was offered to special collectors/friends ahead of time, I suspect it is the same with most of this Hodinkee stuff. Or what IWC did with the Safari one.

Hoping it's something with IWC's new in-house movements!

New hint via email. Looks like it will be on a hunter green canvas strap.

$6,400 is too much for that imo. I would much prefer The Rake edition both style and price

39mm no thanks, nice watch for those that like that size, and I'm no expert in the IWC ref. movements but 42 hrs power reserve sounds like an ETA mvmt.
By the way for those interested it's already available at the Hodinkee shop. |

i actually quite like it but $6,400? Better have an in-house movement at that price over a $80 Sellita

More leaks Checks all the boxes IMO, even if I don’t like the Hodinkee connection. Why is it that watch brands cannot make a contemporary design that people like without involving watchbloggers???? |

I believe the movement is a modified sellita sw300. But, given the limited run and case material, I still think it's a fair price.

Love the old Mark XV hands...on the fence re: the Finish...but at least it’s not PVD.
Hope IWC does not pull a Zenith and release nearly identical non-HODINKEE versions later. |

I just got my email and link to the shop. It looks good (I love minimalist designs) but for that price point it leaves me wanting more. I understand the "limited edition" run, but I think the Pilot's Automatic Spitfire that was shown at SIHH (IW326801) is more handsome and better priced.

Hodinkee - IWC...

I’m with you on minimalist design... no date as well. My issues are the Fauxtina and price. I like the concept of the novel case material. I think the future “patina” on The Rake’s bronze case may not please some...but do those who like green I may get a 36mm Rolex Explorer 1 to get a no date/minimalist fix. |
