GMT II 116710BLNR - should warranty cover this

Would appreciate any thoughts on what should be reasonably warrantied by Rolex. Purchased GMT II new in 2013, had a crown/hands issue in November "16 and Rolex graciously covered the repair at that time. My issue is the crown has failed again & is not winding the watch (as of yesterday) so it will need to go back to Rolex. Should I be getting hit up for the repair/service? Incidentally Rolex said that it was also given a full service back in "16 when the repair was carried out (at no charge to me) Thank you in advance

Sounds like your a year late. All you can do is hope they'll be gracious again. I would hope so since it sounds like their repair failed.

How often do you wind your watch?

Just watched lsatsb again last week.

Yes, I think the failure of a part after it has been repaired under warranty should be under warranty if it fails again.

Even if the warranty has expired.

Unless stated to the contrary.

2c.

I wouldn’t expect a free of charge repair. It was done as goodwill previously, so you’ve already had a free repair that should have been chargeable.

Unfortunately the gravy train has to stop sometimes

Yeah. Ya never know, but in this case I would suspect that Scott is right.

That's crazy! I've felt sticky crowns before but 2 failures in 6 years feels excessive!

I'm starting to think that Rolex is really trying to eliminate parts account holders so that people are FORCED to used RSC and then RSC can do lackluster jobs so they can charge you again when you have to come in to have their mistake fixed...again. "Service" is no longer for the benefit of the customer to keep their timepieces working, it's just another revenue stream.

Also, are you sure they actually serviced your watch like they said? My personal dealings with RSC has shown that they don't tell the truth and they don't do good work.
