Playing with my camera...

...and thought I would try actually composing a shot of my Sea Dweller vs. the usual iPhone pics. Any tips or constructive criticism is appreciated.

I used a fairly shallow depth of field, but wondering if I may have gone too shallow. I wanted the face to be in focus, and it is, but not sure if I should have gotten the bezel in focus as well, or if it is more interesting to have it part in/part out of focus.

It's a Canon EOS 450D (Rebel XSi) with the kit lens. Nothing fancy yet.
