Will be January best month to get allocations

I heard that January is the best month to be able to get allocations from the AD's since the lower demand season

Is that true?

Speaking from personal experience and incoming observations on the forum, January seems to be the worst month for incomings. An increase in pre-holiday deliveries probably plays a big role with this. Besides, demand is higher than ever so not sure why you say it’s a “lower demand season”

Maybe January being a slow month would have had something to it back in the day? Definitely not in today's market. Kinda like the housing market used to slow during the winter months. Not like that at all, at least not in the SF Bay Area!

As others have said "slow" is a relative term in this market.
IMHO unless you're already on "the list" at your AD it will tough.

Which watch specifically are you hunting for? That will also have a huge impact on possible availability.

The “I heard” part in the form of a question suggest your source is unreliable.
The answer is yes, you are correct, your source is indeed unreliable, completely wrong even.

Not allocations but there has been a couple of instances where watches I’m waiting for have been delivered in Jan - feb. These are watches however that ADs tend to only get 2 of per year

Could be total coincidence

That's what we all wish, and the fact that we all wish that means that it wont happen because we're all here hoping it happens so we can buy. Demand is just too strong, people are ready to buy anytime of the year, some people will even go into debt to buy if they get the offer.

There’s no slow month for anything right now let alone Rolex.

Ask yourself this…will dealers stop buying in January? There’s your answer.

No way. There is nothing but demand all the time. No slow months in Rolex world. Not even tax season

I wonder if AD's are holding stock back, ready to sell after the price rise on 1st Jan?

I don't mean they have got thousands of watches sat in their safes. I'm just wondering if a handful of people might get a welcome surprise in January!

If AD's are holding back stock and waiting for the 2022 price increase to occur in January, then the answer is "yes"....

Because Rolex closes for a few weeks at end of year and beginning of January my AD usually doesn’t see a shipment until first or second week of February.

I heard from the dealer, he said there are historical significative reduction in demand because some people over spent in Christmas season and cut spending in January ... also he said Rolex resume the batch deliver 2-3 January week.
