I guess I screwed up by buying from my AD then.....

Not quite, don't think I could wear it in prison.

Thank you Mike. The blue is stunning. This is the first Skydweller of any combination I have seen in person and I was shocked at how it looks in person and even more shocked that they wanted me to have it. Little 'ol me. LOL

From what I hear people say, you have a slim chance of getting a Blue Sky-Dweller.

But there are few people that got lucky and got one from their AD like @Tom5518 (kudos to you ;) )

Not sure about "waiting lists" too, many of the ADs I went said yes to put my name down. I guess you could try to ask random ADs and maybe you will get lucky.

I have a great relationship with my ad, and it took two years to get one... Only because they didn’t get hardly any in. I’m not a big spender like almost everybody says you have to be, but I do have about a 20 year relationship with him. He is now the GM at a respectably sized AD chain (11 stores in NC and Virginia), and he has been with the same company all along.

Funny part was, he called me on a Batman jubilee I wanted so I went there, while trying on the gmt, he brought out a blue sky, and then said, I could only have one... I ended up with the SD lol.

Very true. At least I left the building wearing a blue Skydweller.

Congratulations on yours. I would hate to make that decision, I love wearing the BLNR jubilee. It's a favorite too.

Flip this around for a minute. You are the AD. You order watches all year long from Rolex, and let's say maybe 1 of these comes through. Or even 5. Hell, even if 10 came through- are you just going to let some guy walk in off the street and say "hey, give me that blue Sky Dweller you've got in the safe, please." No, you are going to call some of your best customers and tell them you've got something they might be interested in. The size of those customers will obviously vary by geographic location and AD, but it's all the same directionally...that AD has customers who spend a good deal more than the average person, and those are the people that are going to get the call. The AD saying you have to spend $100k to be on that list is not him actually EXPECTING you to do that; he's giving you a relative threshold needed to be in that VIP tier that gets those calls. I fail to understand how there is anything at all wrong with this practice. He can't invent watches. And even if he does happen to get 10 blue Sky Dwellers and sells 5 to greys to split the extra juice, I'm not even really sure I can blame him for that.

And saying "I'd happily spend $100k in a year if you had all of the popular watches that I want and could likely turn a profit on" is just as crazy as the AD saying it takes $100k to get on that list...especially because that list is made up of people who spend $100k every year, not just in 1 year to buy the most popular few SS Rolexes out there and then be content.
