You never know "Who Knows Who"

My last new Rolex was in 2007, a TT Daytona which has been a gem. I purchased a 2002 Sub 14060 two years ago and really enjoyed the watch. Had decided to sell it in early March after receiving a fair offer and upgrade to the latest 114060. Fast foward Covid hits, the market goes nuts, SS Rolex's are selling for $2-3K over MSRP. Go figure. So I stop by a few local RD's I had previously delt with and was promissed a shot as product was received. This past Sunday my Daughter was visiting and commented about me wearing my Daytona, "was I taking Mom out to dinner because I was wearing my fancy watch". So I explained that my contacts all seemed to not know me anymore, and was actively searching for a new Sub. She says, remember "El---ia", we were in school together. Of corse I did. Well seems she has been working at a local RD for several years. My Daughter asks me what model I'm after. Later that afternoon Daughter says "your on top of the list'. I give her a big hug and thank you.

Today I get a visit from my Daughter and Granddaughter. Guess what, I'm picking up my New 114060 noon tomorrow. NIB $7900, in three Days, and I've never been it Gentlemen's store. Pictures to follow.

Congratulations.

I think I would be a bit annoyed had I been of the list patiently waiting but there again we know how many of these wait lists actually work.

They say you only need 3 persons in a row to reach to any person in the world you can imagine.

As they also - discussions (here: with family) educate :-) Congrats!

Wow is it different. First Rolex I ever had that I had to remove a band Link. GlideLock works great. New Warrentee card with internal chip.

Big Congrats to you! Kudos on your AD connection as well. I walked into an AD and bought my 114060 with a 7% discount on my first visit, that was in Nov 2017. Things have sure changed big time since then. Enjoy that new Beauty!!...

There have been some good stories lately about kids helping or getting their parents a watch.

Very heart warming and significantly better that what is my watch worth threads.

Op - congrats for having a great daughter and for the watch also.

Steve

Congratulations! Have your daughter tell her friend that a long lost uncle needs to be put at the top of the list for a 126710 BLRO.

Contacts! However the story makes a mockery of the fictional “waiting lists”. If you have the right relationship/contact there is no such thing as a waiting list.
