Constellation Pie Pan

Just wondering what you guys think this one may be worth. It's a 21,xxx,xxx serial number which I believe puts it at around 1964...

I think one of the treasons for silence is that I believe values are not discussed on the forum.

Its a nice gold cap Connie in fairly good condition, crown is not the original decagonal, and there is a little bit of wear on the lugs, but hopefully not beyons the placque layer. So I would check the eBay completed listings (do a search for Constellations) and you'll get a fair idea of value.

Cheers

Thank you for the response Desmond. I was unaware values were not discussed here, it seems like they are discussed in the Rolex part of the forums regularly. I was not interested in selling it, I just wanted to get an appx value on it as I picked it up from a local pawn shop and wanted to make sure I got a good deal (fairly certain I did)

I was wondering about the crown. Some of the other pictures of Constellations I've seen have the Omega on the crown, some don't. I figured it was aftermarket, though.

Anyhow this is my first Omega and it is keeping excellent time. Any recommendations on a nice strap for it?

The usual black lizzard is an option, but I like brown or maroon alligator on these gold caps - shows 'em off very nicely.

Cheers

Sure you can ask for value here. I think the reason for the silence is that the Omega section is pretty slow compared to the main forum. I have no idea what it is worth, but try searching for a similar watch on Ebay or chrono24.com to find out what the sellers are asking. Good luck

Nothing wrong with discussing value here. I would estimate the value of that watch at +/- $450 as it needs a service, new crystal and new crown as well as taking into account its well used condition. I can't tell if the blemishes I see are on the dial or the well worn crystal.

After cleanup it would make a nice daily wear Connie pie pan. I agree that a brown strap looks good and if you do choose the more formal black strap, take a hard look at a black crocodile instead of a black lizard strap. m

Thanks guys. It looks like the dial is in pretty good shape for it's age. It's hard to get a good picture of it due to the crystals condition, which is pretty scratched up! As far as the value, +/- 450 is over 2x what I paid for it, as I only paid $200=)

I'm leaning toward the brown strap. I think that would suit me better than black.
Thanks again
Tyler
