Crown seated properly?
I noticed something on my GMTII today. When the crown is screwed down it seats tight against the watch case. There is no feeling of it snugging down against the o-ring like there is on my Explorer (or any other screw crown watch I have) it just turns freely until it hits the case. Is this right?
My concern is that the tube is installed too far into the case and the o-ring in the crown may not me compressing as it should. The watch just came back from RSC so I assume it passed the pressure test but one never knows. I'll try to get some macro photos this evening. What do the experts think?

Now that I am thinking about it more I don't see how the tube can be installed too far into the case unless the tube gasket was left out...
Any thoughts? or am I just being OCD and over-thinking this?

I don't feel any difference in resistance until my crown just stops turning. New Sub.

Both of mine just stop. If the dial gets condensation it's time to worry imo.

The crown should never contact the case; if it did, the crown gasket would not seal.
Your watch will easily pass any pressure test if the crown gasket is omitted because of the o-ring seals inside the tube around the stem.
