Thanks Joey, I appreciate the kind comments. The fish school in this area every spring so it's a good spot for the osprey. It's winding down for this year and I was hoping to make it back out there this weekend but it looks rain so I may have to wait for next year.

A single bloom so far. The hosta was very late. Any connection?

My pink peony is just starting to open.
My hosta didn’t seem to be behind in growing.
I don’t think there is a connection.

Ants just love the peony <sigh>

Hope your aphids go away.

My young wisteria is so beautiful right now :)

Happy gardening :)

<sigh> Ants? :-) Are ants bad? Later in the season ants will be streaming double-quick in two neat rows up and down my Japanese maple. They know no sleep.

Late December the hosta was already poking up. Then after a couple of months it disappeared entirely, and I thought it dead. In April, miraculously, like a primordial subterranean creature, it poked it's pointed claw-like growths above the soil. Which unfolded healthily and speedily into huge leaves.

To the relief and pleasure of my cat, who slumbers hidden beneath.

Here's my single peony this morning before the sun has hit it.

Played golf this morning here in New Zealand. Temp was 39 degrees at tee off. This shot was on the 6th hole. I thought the yellow blossom tree stood out so nice against the fog covered fairway and green.

Mike, that's the best photo on the subject of raptors hunting that I've ever seen. Absolutely amazing focus and shutter speed.

Thanks very much Joey! They are amazing hunters to watch and put the eagles to shame.

Please post your Nature Pictures here.

Earlier this week at the Manuel Antonio National Park in central pacific Costa Rica. A very small park, but with almost 300 species of birds and mammals. These were all taken with an iPhone through a telescoping lens on tripod by our guide. It was impressive what he could spot with the naked eye even after 7 years experience.
